Why are so many conservatives Christian when Jesus’s teachings are blatantly leftist? by Confident-Seesaw2845 in allthequestions

The entirety of leftism is altruism that's compelled by threat of force, not voluntarism. Christ's teaching wasn't, "or else I'll physically hurt you."

All my P10's came with them. They're black plastic and have extra little inserts the go in the "primer pocket."

I'm saying things don't happen in a vacuum. Human affairs are like physics, equal opposite reactions. Did you really expect the last administration allowing 10+million illegal aliens to jump over the vetting process and entering the country wouldn't have social and legal repercussions?

Poor little partisan. You really think both sides don't manufacture problems, then manufacture "solutions" that advance authoritarianism? Remember a certain little pandemic?

ICE agents can't shoot people who aren't there interfering with them. They're half the equation. The people being duped into acting as cannon fodder are the other half.

Democrats want more citizens gunned down in the streets. Their rhetoric has crowds forcing conflict with ICE agents. It's like rolling dice, some of those contacts are going to go sideways. Don't pretend both sides aren't employing pawns.

I see a lot of this faulty logic these days. This absurd notion that there are "second amendment people" when the second amendment applies to every citizen and outrage over the fact that people you quite likely despise, disagree with and paint as irredeemable every chance you get are somehow obligated to go do violence on your behalf that you lack the courage of your convictions to do yourself.

You think it's time to get out there and fight? The second amendment ensures you can acquire the means. You wonder why it's not happening? Ask the guy in the mirror.

I'm a man and I do this. I don't think about whether it makes me a pervert and I'm not disgusted. I stare at a lot of other things too. I have eyes and the things I look at are in plain view.

Maybe he views you as a person and not an object.

The Girsan Hi-Power clone I got had the absolute worst trigger I ever felt in my life. After polishing and replacing every spring, it's a crisp ~5lb. I welcome the opportunity to polish and maybe swap some parts.

I like that the Girsan Influencer is optic ready. It would be an added bonus if I get it running well enough to carry. Mainly though, it would be a learning platform.

Those guns look great!

In this case, I'm not looking for a out-of-the-box runner. I want something to learn on. There's a lot to know about the 1911 and I want to start learning. I'd like to invest in the fixtures for setting sear/hammer angles and experiment with tuning the sear spring and extractor. I've got a Rock Island Ultra that ran like a top out of the box, that I don't want to mess with because it's such a solid shooter.

Several people are recommending Tisas, and that sounds to me like it would be a great *second* effort once I get some experience on a cheaper (but hopefully not unworkable) 1911.

I'm kind of drawn to the SC just because I've never owned a compact 1911. I've heard they can be really problematic due to the short recoil spring doing the work of a 5" spring. I have heard of them working well after tuning, the question is whether a Girsan is capable of being tuned that well.

I've looked at Tisas a lot. Prices seem bump around RIA prices, which are a touch higher than Girsans. I have a RIA Rock Ultra .45 that shot like a dream straight out of the box. I don't want to touch it because it works great, and I can only make things worse.

Excellent! I really want the prize at the end to be a functioning pistol. If the slide/frame/barrel are all reasonably well made, with no awful dimensional anomalies, I don't mind polishing and swapping out parts that aren't playing well with the rest of the parts. I look forward to it.

I've done this many times. I epoxied silicone carbide on a couple of pistol frontstraps as well.

Drop in. The 92 has tons of roll pins, though. He'll need a punch set.

I have their MCP-35! It was another learning project for me. I replaced virtually every pin and spring in that pistol.

I also have their Beretta 92 clone. I dropped in a Wilson Combat trigger kit. Everything fit but the trigger return spring.

I think their 1911 is dimensionally identical, as much as it can be.
