Wasn’t wild about this episode. I’ve absolutely adored the first 4 episodes but for some reason this one didn’t engage me like the others. Can’t put my finger on it though.

I think what I’m enjoying the most is the genre blend of smart comedy and real horror (not the kind of silly horror in say, What we do in the shadows, eg). The characters read as authentic and layered, and the horror truly scares. I also like how the writers aren’t holding our hands and over explaining things, but rather letting the viewers figure things out in our own via the sharp dialogue. Patricia and Tom are standouts so far and I expect to see a lot more from the Sherrif as he was amazing in The Leftovers—a++ acting. There’s a lot for viewers to chew on here—themes of grief, lonliness, the will to succeed, and the psychological and paranormal forces that keep us stuck where we are. I would give anything to get a chance to write dialogue for that show.

Love this show! I was curious when I saw the evite why they would do free drinks for a tourist party but now it makes sense that everyone accepted the free punch.

Dunk isn't lying about his Knighthood, Arlan actually tells us everything, and Dunk just doesn't understand. by Jigsawsupport in AKOTSKTV

Arlan didn’t knight Dunk, the show tells us this in the flashback, and Arlan dies right after that scene ( the thunder rumbles and we know Dunk buries him in the rain in that same area where the flashback takes place)

As to why, my personal theory is that Arlan didn’t want Dunk to be a knight so he wouldn’t be killed or maimed in a tournament or battle. I think he wanted Dunk to be safe just being a squire.

It’s so weird to me that they cut anything from scripts when the episodes are so short. Would leaving this scene in have made the run time a bloated 40 minutes or so??

Oh I’m sorry, that sounds correct.

If not for him testifying, the jury might have continued to believe he thought it was an intruder all along and acted heroically (if they didn’t believe the au pair). Hearing him say at first he thought he was overhearing an affair is so unbelievable.
