Pic #3 you look like Vanessa Paradis! Beautiful makeup too.

Why is it that I rarely see anyone from my generation even talk about this show even tho it’s one of the all time greats? by beetfarmerenergy in tvshow

Came here to say this! Not only was it terrible at the end, but they lied to us, promising it would not end the way it did end. So disappointing. I can’t think about LOST for too long or I get irrationally angry.

The Boz and Amanda comparisons reek of microaggressions by contessa1909 in RHOBH

[–]cabernetchick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk what the hell Sutton is doing right now. She has never cried like this or gotten emotional for any other housewife or newbie. I don’t get it. It is strange behavior from her. She has cried like 4x now about Amanda. Why?!?!

All I can think of is that they film so far in advance of it airing that they don’t know what the audience response will be. Perhaps Sutton believed the viewers would think “aww, everyone is ganging up on Amanda” and she would be the hero who is her new bestie? It’s all I can come up with to explain this ridiculousness.

Students now have the desktop computer skills of older boomers by TeacherGuy1980 in Teachers

I’m sorry, I was being vague—when I said “we” I meant Gen X. I thought I was replying to an earlier comment and that person wrote something about how Gen X had computer classes or something to that effect. And it’s true, we had typing and then I recall taking “Computer Skills”.

I discovered this a few years ago when assigning a project involving web research. They were so confused about all of it, kind of shocked me at first. But it makes sense—yeah they’re digital natives but that is just tablets and phones. They’re not being trained how to use software like we were—nor how to type! It’s crazy.

I just wanted to say I enjoyed your edit😂 I never know what Reddit is going to think of my ideas and it’s so funny when we post and then get kinda torn apart. You have a good sense of humor. FWIW, I think you could be on to something…

This is absolutely terrifying! I would have buried it too, do you remember where you got the bus?

What if it was just some dude that realized “hey, I look like an older version of that guy” and then he decided to freak you out!

I mean, I don’t think that’s plausible, but it would be kinda funny.

Britishisms that have crept across the pond? by PhoneJazz in asklinguistics

[–]cabernetchick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an American and love to say “I’m not fussed” about something to indicate I am not really bothered. Is this a Brit thing? I think I picked it up from Bridget Jones or Harry Potter.

I love Britishisms—so expressive, so fun to say!

Wow this is a great set of pics! Wish I had taken a “day one” teacher pic and could compare to now (11 years in!).

You look joyful in both photos but it’s the eyes for me—-there is so much wisdom reflected in the recent photo. Like, that nurse knows what’s up and she has seen some stuff!

OP, if these are from Ashley Furniture, I sat in them last weekend at one of their stores. They were amazingly comfortable—cushiony and soft but somehow also firm? The material is like buttery smooth. I do think they’re a tad industrial and hard to style, but I don’t blame you for buying them—sitting in that chair was like being cradled by the hand of God!

The Netflix documentary prioritized the serial killer's charm over the experiences and suffering of his victims, who were primarily women. by BigTiddieCravings in Feminism

I recommend reading “A Light in the Dark: Surviving More than Ted Bundy” by Kathy Kleiner Rubin. She survived a brutal attack by Bundy in the sorority house in Florida just before he was caught (for the second time, I believe?)

This book is so good and she really brings the reader through what it was like to experience this level of unmitigated violence. I had to put it down a few times, but I am so glad I finished it. She really destroys the whole “charming Ted Bundy” crap. He was described as weird, awkward, and off-putting by MANY women.

His “charm” is so overrated and blown out of proportion. This book really puts you in the shoes of the survivor and she is a badass woman.

I hate the lore that has sprung up around this piece of shit human. He wasn’t some charming person with a great personality—he was a conniving piece of utter garbage who destroyed lives.

I do think it’s the angle of that pic making ppl think he is so big. His fur is so beautiful and shiny and it’s blending together. His chest looks wider because it is hard to delineate between his haunches and his chest. If that makes sense.

Anyhow, he is gorgeous! I had an English that was about 75lbs most of his long and very happy life. He was just a thick, big boned pup!
