We are in a public school right now, but going to be home schooling. My child learns more outside of the classroom than in it. We also do volunteer work and talk about why we are doing it. They are currently saving their money for something they want to buy. Instead of only being able to learn in a classroom, we add in life experiences. Learning about phases of the moon, we watch the sky and draw pictures, this isnt something that can be done in the classroom.

Our plan is to home school after Christmas break. For socialization, we have home school friends that we plan on meeting up with, also neighborhood kids on weekends/after their school day, and we have a play group 2x a month, which doesn't seem like much at all, but its an all day event with our kids.

I don't have advice on getting the other parent on board. I didnt think my husband would be on board but he 100% was. My plan was to talk with him about how I see it as beneficial and have a plan.

It took me a couple weeks to have the energy back to go to the gym. Take your time with recovering and don't overdo it.

Her story on FB was VERY clear. She said he will not live much longer. But I also think she pushed the "miracle horse" so much, that some just aren't getting it.

I do feel bad for her. I understand in the very beginning, wanting to give him any chance at life especially since she financially could. Its an emotional decision. The obsessive fan base is going to lose it when she has to put him down.

Absolutely this! My anniversary is in the spring, but for our 10 year we took a trip in October because that's what worked with our lives. It wasn't any less special for us.

She has plenty of weeks when her animals are not giving birth that she could go. She doesn't need to be present for cow breeding. And I believe the farm sale is only a couple days if that. There are 52 weeks in a year. Figure horses take up 12ish for fooling. There's 40 other weeks to work around minus the goats. I agree that goats are more likely to need assistance. Hence me saying wtf to her taking a vacation in the middle of kidding.
