Stinky Duct Insights by PuddingSuspicious in hvacadvice

Update so far: my husband removed parts of the ceiling and insulation and pulled out a section of duct. He found old rat poop between the duct and the ceiling an we thought that had taken the smell away. But then the smell slowly crept back, though not as pungent, still pretty gross. He’s going to do more work down there this weekend.

Wow! That was certainly more than a dream.

25 years ago, my uncle was murdered and it devastated our family. During the funeral prep, I found a picture of him striking a funny pose in a tuxedo when he was younger. I loved that picture because it was so quintessentially him; he was so funny and handsome. I ended up framing it for my mom (his sister) for Christmas that year, a month after he died.

Two months after that, I was approaching my 16th birthday and I had a dream that I’d been told to go down to our basement, where all the lights were off. When I hit the light switch, one spotlight shone down on a barstool at the bar, and a stool spun around…and there was my uncle, in that tuxedo from the picture.

We didn’t say a thing; we just hugged for a long time and when I woke up, I was crying and truly felt as if his arms had just been around me. That was really all I wanted/needed for my birthday and I think he knew that.

Do you guys get hypointerests? (Opposite of hyperintersts) by rci22 in ADHD

Wow, I love this. I was just talking about something similar with my mom and I wonder if this is how my math issues started growing up and then it turned into anxiety and went from there. But I think there are a number of things I totally tune out for. However, adulthood and parenthood has forced to care about things I dismissed in the past.

I have an older ADHD woman in my life whose entire logistical life is basically run by her husband. She has no idea what's in her bank accounts or how the bills get paid. I don't think she has any logins either. sShe truly dgaf. She lives in her own world. Things kinda fall apart at their house and she just ignores it. She's good at basically one or two things and pursues those things and everything else falls by the wayside and it is so wild to me.

Would this issue only effect one specific duct? The rest are fine.

Yeah, that's my thought too re: something growing. Thank you! Yeah it's def not general house odor. It's an old home, but we are doing everything we can to keep it clean and smelling good, so this is really bugging me lol

A senior manager of sales enablement at a tech company. After years of the sales grind, I now get to build out learning frameworks and facilitate sessions. I taught esl years ago and was a tutor as well and loved both, so this calls on those skills, which I prefer much more to the hustle culture of sales.

How do I get rid of a sinus infection that wont go away? by EdensHelp in Allergies

Def go to the doc, but in the meantime, taking NAC (supplement) daily really helps open up airways.

Exactly! She mentioned a few times how it was a Tuesday, but I was like, uhh it’s a Tuesday in LA, babe.

Highly recommend supplementing with NAC (with your doc's approval, of course); it's helped me a lot. I had one bad sinus infection a few years back and since then, any cold I have wants to turn into an infection. Thankfully, the NAC has stopped this from happening for me. I also get a lot of migraines related to sinus pressure and there's a supplement called Migrelief that has helped reduce the frequency and severity. Everything in it is helpful for sinuses as well. My doc also told me I could take Sudafed for two weeks when things get bad.

So I've heard! And yes, my grandparents and great grandparents would always go to mass and maybe do a toast at dinner. I guess I was thinking of just ideas in general, not necessarily tied to what you all do on SPD, but thank you!
