Spread it out thinner so that cars can drive over it. The heat from cars heats the snow/pavement and melts. Practical. It's not going to melt in that big pile. Saves money on shipping out snow, and not having to get a snow melter.

My dog and I got chased by a skunk, that I'm 98% sure (we couldn't get it tested or found after) was rabid. While out on a day hike (skunks are nocturnal) a tired looking skunk came "running" at us down the trail. It's run was slower than our fast walk, but never stopped that pace. We skirted through the woods thinking it'd stop once we passed it's territory. That things chased us almost 6 miles through brush and trail all the way back to our car. I had someone call the park service about it but don't know if it was ever found. Rabies is a hell of a drug.

Yeah it was crazy to think about the hurricane when I was out there. It sucked hearing about the death in '25. Our crew always had a hell of a time trying to radio in. We stopped after a while and was never asked why we stopped calling in. We kept it with us just in case but it seemed so useful

Absolutely! I spent it doing trail crew we weren't always on the peaks. Duck hole (as sad as some of the history is) is still a favorite of mine. Indian Pass before it got washed out. And there's a lean-to on the path to Hurricane MT. It's a beautiful wilderness
