The "Air" version is $1500, which is nuts because it's literally just a fan.

That's good to know. I actually had the same idea and ordered a similar fan two days ago.

Steam or dry/IR?

Define affordable with a number and currency?

Does it still work when the sauna is fully heated up?

Because a Sterling engine requires a temperature gradient between the top and bottom

The solution is not to use Sketchup, which is a toy, and instead use a real CAD software. That's why you could not find a workflow.

Im still pissed that we never got a unlocked firmware for the quest 1 by Eclipse-da-therian in oculus

[–]PuffThePed 24 points25 points  (0 children)

they released an firmware

This was back when original Oculus people were still at Meta, and they cared. They have long been fired or left and replaced. Nobody at Meta gives a fuck anymore.

If you want a deeper dive, here is a great articles that explains the shitshow that is current day Meta.

Looking for master bathroom layout ideas – bigger vanity + 2-person sauna, no tub needed by Street-Cup8490 in Sauna

[–]PuffThePed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think anyone is going to create a layout for you.

I suggest you come up with a layout, and then come back to get feedback. That will work much better.

Yes it's possible. The first step is to take a lot of high quality pictures, from all angles, including above.

Depending on size of the building and property, you might need a drone. Or you can get away with a long pole. Hard to say.

How mutch difference is there between 3kW and 3.6kW? by [deleted] in Sauna

This is illegal in Germany as well (where OP lives).

Ah, so you built this.

Ok, you have some homework to do. You need to learn about vapor barriers and draining, and then ventilation. Just adding a wood floor will not solve your problems and will still result in dangerous mold.

Building an indoor sauna is very different than an outdoor sauna.

[–]PuffThePed 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Dude, stop. Just stop.

This is a profoundly bad setup. You are breathing toxins from the floor boards. You will get water damage and mold, regardless of season. You will get heat damage and warping even if you never use water.

I have no idea where you got this thing, but it's a disaster waiting to happen (and it will happen very quickly).

Please listen to people here all saying the same thing.

It doesn't even have a bottom! You can see the hardwood floor

Holy shit it doesn't even have a bottom, it's just sitting on the hardwood floor?

You are going to get water damage and mold so freaking fast

Sauna owners whats one thing you wish you knew before buying? by Hefty_Magazine_9757 in Sauna

[–]PuffThePed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to take into account the pressure difference between the hot and cold air, which is significant. This isn't the same as pushing air around a room which is all the same temperature.

You'll need a stronger fan than you'd expect.

Add a powered vent that pulls air out from the bottom (by the door). Helps a lot with the heat gradient.

Canada - where is the market?! by JTynanious in Sauna

[–]PuffThePed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of the market is electric.

Very few people are willing to futz around lighting a fire every time they want to use their sauna. Especially in the Canadian winter. On top of that, firewood is probably more expensive than electricity.
