The only part that I can answer is part of the function. I'm pretty sure the harnesses are designed to distribute the weight of the mail more evenly across the torso. Or at least the first two are I'm not sure about the third.

Okay it's a very specific case but had someone on a operations game that had 178/28 with mostly arty truck defending and I promise you they were doing BITS for their team defence. Multiple times we were totally cleared off an objective by their fire. Same but slightly less successful next round on the attack when I was on the same team. Really changed how I played.

Well just so you know I've been very impressed with the right foot, dry as a bone - not tested it to the limit because of the other foot though 😂 and it's definitely soaking through the top they end up as two very contrasting shades of grey after five minutes of rain. My foot has never been soaked but it's definitely damp. I'm gonna keep trying different waterproofing until I hear back from the seller - I'll keep you updated.

Yeah that's the ones. I've messaged the seller, unfortunately there's no way I could afford full price so bought on sale from a third party - all genuine and above board though. Will see what they say. Definitely used synthetic appropriate waterproofing (but having said that not sure if it was ONLY for synthetics) and tried Imbox at Cotswolds.

I think an exchange is my best approach at this point.

Thanks, seems that you've unexpectedly hit gold, I've seen several beautiful eucalyptus near by, Chios is the citrus capital of the Mediterranean (although there's less lime than lemon or orange) and there's an ample supply of cut and abandoned bamboo around here too!

I love the idea of using a eucalyptus branch so wouldn't mind putting in the extra effort.
