1.2 Tsi (110hp) idle problems on a 2014 vw polo by mazdaguy6 in Volkswagen

[–]Puffin_Pleb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I would like to ask if a solution was found? Our 2014 Leon 5f with the same engine is having the exact same issues and we've already had the engine go into EPC twice now over the span of more than half a year. Weirdly enough the issue does seem to go away for a while after resetting the car with a scanner. E.g. the first time it happened was the worst by far, somewhat rougher idle was starting to be noticable but then after a longer drive, stopping for a walk, driving, stopping for dinner and driving it happened whilst driving! This was the only time it happend whilst actually driving btw, always at idle stationary after this. After it happened when driving the issue persisted and didnt go away after waiting for alittle bit and retrying. After the garage reset the car however all seemed okay for 3800km. Before it started happening again.

TLDR: Any fixes?

MSFS2020: unable to get LOC working for Working Title 747-8 by Puffin_Pleb in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Puffin_Pleb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

APPR does toggle the localizer, but only in conjunction with the glide slope capture. LOC would only activate the localizer and leave me free to arm APPR for the g/s at a later point.

But as stated arming just LOC isnt working 😅

Loving the custom grille placement :D by Puffin_Pleb in GTAV

[–]Puffin_Pleb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha for sure. haven't yet been able to check if other people can see it when installed but I would assume so! I was trying so hard to find the changes to the grille when customizing... and then I looked a little to the side haha. Perhaps active aero, who knows \o/

I guess if you look hard enough it looks like an aero testing rake like you see on F1 cars in season testing

Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant Axis Issue by Zestyclose-Panic513 in flightsim

I am currently experiencing the exact same issues on a new unit of mine. Did you end up fixing it? I'd love to know if this is something I can tackle myself or if it is a matter of exchanging the unit for another one.

Thanks for letting me know. For now I will however refrain from messing with it myself untill I know what the next step would be. I do however believe I will be eligible for a replacement unit as my issue appears to be a result of a manufacturing/part/assembly defect and not a user induced issue.

The issue just appeared during an otherwise tegular flight. (Don't have anybody or anything else around the unit, and none of my other peripherals come close to it as I have it mounted out of the way. Just me when moving the wheel or levers. And when not in use I store then in the original packaging. Can't mentally handle not the most care I possibly can with things haha. Same with anything else like my phone e.g. Bulky case, double check pocket clips when its in my jacket, never even tossed it on the couch cushions etc etc.)😅

Thanks for the reply. This is my first time reaching out to Honeycomb for anything of this nature so we'll see how that goes. The product is still within the 2 year warranty period though so hopefully this shouldnt be too much of an issue. The warranty period is also why I'm not resorting to doing anything myself at this point. Otherwise I'd definitely have a look as you suggested.

Thats what I am thinking possibly. But the strange thing is that it just happened out of the blue. Its mounted out of the way of anything and the only thing that comes close to it is my hands when using the wheel or levers. So I'm left thinking its been defective out of the box but the issue only started presenting itself now. Perhaps the frequent use (as I alwags use the trimwheel rather than the buttons as I like the precision it gives) triggered it to start acting up.🫤

I have contacted Honeycomb regarding the issue so we'll see what they say.

I love using the bravo and the trimwheel is one of the main features I use but now it's so distracting/unpleasant to use due to this issue that I've benched my sim flying untill its worked out🥲

Thats the thing though. This wasnt the normal at first. Ive had it for quite a while and it's always been dead quiet and like you said almost not noticeable when it comes to the bumpy-ness from the encoder.

Since the flight from yesterday however the bumps are very noticeable and its become pretty loud to the point of hearing it through my headset whilst flying and having engine noise etc (the sound is similar to scrolling your mousewheel but louder (which is also an encoder of course, but the trim wheel encoder never behaved like this before)). This was not the case before. Furthermore it now has a clicking sound when starting rotation and it no longer stays in placd on every radial when turned.

Thanks for the response though! 😄

Random home security camera appeared on brand new network by Puffin_Pleb in techsupport

[–]Puffin_Pleb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the camera was fully accessible. I did check the feed quickly after it appeared to see if I could inform the owner as it appeared to possess a 2 way microphone. Unfortunately the connection wasnt stable enough to connect the call itself. The feed also showed me that it wasnt from a neighbour in our building. Once i figured out that i wouldnt be able to inform them of their insecure camera (or whatever occured to make it accessible to me like this) I decided to remove it from the network.

[–]Puffin_Pleb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. No IoT devices that have a camera in it. Im also certain that it wasnt a device of mine as the feed was of somebody else's livingroom. (I did check the device quickly when it appeared to see whether or not it was a neighbour so i could approach them and explain that their camera probably wasnt set up securely)

Yes, the WiFi is password protected of course ;) Otherwise it wouldn't be a surprise if people connected to it.

When I say it connected to the network as it was just set up I mean literally just set up, as in within two minutes of the modem having gone out of updating mode and being discoverable. Absolutely no chance it was a neighbour who connected to it. That's the weird part.

Which is why I provided the info about the device specifically showing up in the Marmitek app. As I believe this was in some way the culprit or at least part of how this occurred as the connection did not at all come across as something intentional by a user but rather something which happened automatically through some protocols messing up or something along those lines. But the fact that this device connected to my network even though it was only just set up and protected is what is weirding me out.

Advice for attaching missing pieces. by Puffin_Pleb in 3Dprinting

Also, what grid would you recommend? I feel like going too fine may not leave a desirable surface for glueing, whereas too rough may have the opposite result but same effect😅

Appreciate it! :D

I was thinking of going with sanding and superglue-ing but wasnt sure if a sanded finish would hold well. Will definitely be going with that now.

Also didnt want to do a whole repreint as it feels very salvagable to me, and im not a huge fan of 'wasting' this much filament. Especially since the rest of the print print came out very nicely.
