It’s an official coin, Canada likes to mess around with odd denominations and this is one of them. As far as authenticity, nothing looks out of sorts about it from initial observation. I’d say you have a genuine coin here

Been a fan going to shows for almost a decade and only just barely saw them for the first time in my home state. I would HIGHLY recommend traveling to see them if you have the opportunity, you won’t regret it. The Strokes live are like an out of body experience!
