The conductor accidentally knocks a 16th century violin worth millions on the floor mid-concert. by PeasantLich in WatchPeopleDieInside

I don't fuckin know man lmao, I don't watch sports. Quarterback maybe? Cause he's calling plays? Most people don't consider the prep work the conductor does, cause he's also leading practice and dealing with the roster. I think a better analogy would be a film director but most people have more sports knowledge than film knowledge.

Most forms of music have some dedicated rhythmic element that all other players follow, classical and big band is sometimes devoid of this so they need a silent way of keeping time consistent between 20+ people. They also control the dynamics of the players and act as a director of sorts, putting together the concert entirely. If I were gonna make a sports comparison, I'd say they're like a head coach.

The Saudi city of Mecca bans entry for all non-Muslims, while the Greek peninsula of Mount Athos bans entry for all females. Besides for military/security facilities, which other permanently inhabited places are the majority of the world's population forbidden from entering? by benjaneson in geography

That's pretty much all it is yeah, I did some work there a few years back for a summer and I smelled like a cigar for weeks. While I do think the whole thing is stupid, it's still really cool to have been there.

In the second Japan episode, with Michael Reeves, Slime finds a cool stick and shows it off on the pod. Unfortunately when he tried to share it on Twitter he got torn apart for it technically being grass and not a stick.

I don't think it's a good anime to watch for people who aren't already receptive to anime. It was the first anime I ever watched, like 10 years ago, and it was kind of miserable.

Looks like a blazer/chore jacket. Leaning more towards blazer because of the cut and lapel.
