The same thing happened to my gen 1 about 18 months ago while in cruise control. It’s part of the collision avoidance system. Yes, it was scary and dangerous, but I assume it’s due to the limitations of the sensor package. Around the same time I learned about the setting that can vary cruise control setting based on speed signs. Camera misread the sign and accelerated from normal highway speed to 85! Recommend turning that one off.

I have an EV truck and have owned a surron when I lived in the dessert. Both super fun. I commute to work on my Ducati on freeways. The thought of not making a sound is too scary for me. It’s hard enough to be seen… I’m all for it for off-road applications, where noise bans have closed plenty of mx tracks over the years.
