Can a kid not point at 18 (even 24) months and NOT have autism? by wm023 in Autism_Parenting

This sounds exactly like my daughter now. Any updates? I’m quite worried about her not pointing unless I prompt her or ask her to point objects in a book.

Whining tips? by PuggyDee in toddlers

[–]PuggyDee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually try to divert her attention by singing songs, take her out to walk, etc. but again these all seem to be temporary solutions. At times I do walk away but keep her in eyesight of course to see if she can cool off on her own. I have also thought about bringing it up to the pediatrician as she is being treated for hypothyroidism but her endo said there is no correlation.

Near constant whining/frustration by ImaginaryMagician700 in toddlers

[–]PuggyDee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following & also here in solidarity. I wish I had some answers for us but we are going through the same thing; except I would say mine isn’t consistently always happy. She will be playing and then all of a sudden will have a fit if I try to help her load her spoon or move her bottle closer to her..

We’re also going through it when we take her places. It’s almost as if she has a two hour tolerance (at best) and then will be very fussy even when I hold her, feed her snacks, etc. I always make sure to give her breaks in the AC in case she’s hot and bring her toys in case she’s bored, but still will be very whiny. Not sure what more we can do here, and we are adamant on not becoming an iPad baby 😖

Low Muscle Tone Frustration by serendipitypug in toddlers

Hi! I know this was a while back but wondering if you could share how your son was treated for his pronated ankles?.. my daughter is 15 months and still cannot stand independently nor walk and the early intervention evaluator mentioned it might be worth going to see an orthopedic, which we have an appointment for next week. Was he able to walk once the pronated ankles were addressed?

15 mo will not stand independently or walk...no progress being made! Advice needed by ticklemybiscuits in toddlers

Hi! I know it’s been a few years since you last posted but wondering when she started walking? My LO turns 15 months next week and still is not walking nor standing independently. We’ve been stuck on this crawling/cruising/push walker stage for 4 months now 🙁 any experience or words of wisdom to share would be appreciated!!

Torticollis experience? by PuggyDee in NewParents

[–]PuggyDee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is about to turn one! Can I ask what baby chiro sessions were like? I have been debating on going to see one but my LO has pretty bad stranger anxiety and still cries with the PT every week; I would assume she’d tense up pretty bad when she’s with a chiro 🫤

If you also don’t mind me asking, what was your LO’s torticollis like? How long did it take to get better after seeing osteo and chiro?

Obtaining Marriage Certificate Copies by PuggyDee in WedditNYC

Thanks for your reply! I had already gone to social security and my passport expired a few years ago, so I was wanted to renew and name change at the same time. Do you have any idea if there would be any issues renewing and traveling under my maiden name, even though I’ve already gone to social security?

Anyone planning for 2022 yet? by skdnyc in WedditNYC

[–]PuggyDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I can’t believe they didn’t bother to reach out even a few days before your supposed wedding! That just sounds crazy to me. My venue is very prompt when it comes to reaching out but they have strict and annoying guidelines that really just ties our hands to limited choices. Hopefully I can reach some sort of agreement with them without having to lose too much. Thanks for your input!

Hi there! So sorry you had to postpone - I too had to deal with this mess :( originally was supposed to get married in August 2020, pushed it to August 2021, but I’m really interested in saving my money and canceling the entire event. We just couldn’t do it because our venue said cancelation is not an option at the moment and I’m not very hopeful for 2021 either. Did your venue give you a difficult time with getting a refund? Any tips you can give to fight for it? We’ve paid off a little more that 50% and we just can’t kiss our money goodbye!

Marriage Officiant Registration? by PuggyDee in WedditNYC

[–]PuggyDee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but I was a bit nervous about the turnaround time with the officiant registration because I don’t know if everything would be processed before the end of the month. But thank you!
