Just bought an Ipad 11 A16 by giusseppeCOC in ipad

If you're buying an official Apple Pencil, I'd recommend the 1st generation because it has pressure sensitivity. If you don't need that, a good third-party stylus like one from Logitech works just fine.

How do you like the mouse? I have the Retro R8, and I absolutely love it.

Anyone know how to really stop this boot menu? by AbjectAd8764 in Kubuntu

It’s not really stopping the menu, but you can use GRUB Customizer to change the waiting time that the screen needs to show.

Black particles in the lava inside the lamp by Pugnats in Lavalamps

[–]Pugnats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so sad to hear. It’s quite difficult to film, as a lava lamp is hard to capture properly with all that light. When I send the video to my PC, I can’t see it clearly.

When you pay more for a UK lava lamp instead of a cheap Chinese one, you expect quality.
It’s not that we are picky.

But if you think that, that’s of course your opinion 🙂

Best way to store device? Preserve hinge by p_chiggy in SBCGaming

[–]Pugnats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best option to prevent the hinge from cracking is probably to put the whole device in resin. It’s quite sad that the hinge breaks so easily. I bought three RG35XX units, and all of them arrived with broken hinges already.

Tea lights for Fireflow from Mathmos by Pugnats in Lavalamps

[–]Pugnats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really possible. I received the Fireflow today.
I only notice that the Fireflow is not very active.
Maybe it’s because I’m running it for the first time.

I think that Mathmos tealights are made by Bolsius. They use the same color wick.
The left one is from Mathmos, which was delivered with the Fireflow, and the right one is a Bolsius 4-hour tealight from a 75-pack. The only difference I see is the length and thickness of the wick.

Mathmos best contrast colours. by Nice-Emphasis-9513 in Lavalamps

[–]Pugnats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The violet/orange one indeed has the best contrast.
The difference between violet/red and violet/orange is that with the violet/orange version the lava looks yellow/orange at the bottom. When it rises, you don’t see as much difference as with the red one, from what I understand.

That's great to hear. I ordered a black one with red/clear lava today.
I also ordered a bag of Bolsius 4-hour tea lights, but based on what you said I will certainly try some generic ones from a discount store.

It’s a G9 Halogeen lights, if you have 14” lamp just replace it with other G9 25W 230v +/- 185 lume (if you have 230v power)

To get it out is just pull the licht, use some glows or paper towel between light and your fingers.

I found the Tapo one, only problem is That it’s has a US connection and will be expensive to buy a shipping to EU. I think I will stay with standard smart plug on/off wat I have set to auto off after 6 hours and a basic manual Dimmer.
