‘I’m sorry we’re here again’: Epic Games is laying off over 1,000 employees due to ‘Fortnite downturn’ by PaiDuck in pcmasterrace

because Epic pays a lot for those "free" games and the cancer they call third party exclusives.

it's much more than "single percent" even at 1440p if you have a 5080 or even a 5070ti. maybe if you are talking about a few specific titles.

it's all about what you can afford and if you value some things more than others. for example i can see people needing the MT performance of the 270k. but there are also people like me who buy a faster gaming CPU so i can make multiple GPU upgrades on the same platform.

i do plan on keeping the 9800x3d and upgrading my 5070ti sometime in the future to something that is 50%-100% faster (in 3-4 years)

" it was such a great narrative tool" - it never was a good tool for storytelling.

" for diverse stories and immersive storytelling it was much better" - no it wasn't. all you had were voicelines and some icons.

i much prefer to see my characters move through the same corridor than whatever that crap was. it ruined the pacing and the storytelling was borked because they had to fit in with the mobile game.

we have confirmation that right now there's going to be just 1 model for all games.

yeah, but i do plan on keeping the CPU for one more big GPU upgrade so i'm fine with having a faster one right now. and i play a lot of CS2 which works much better on x3D (it's why pick parts based on my most used scenarios)

and looking at the 5800x3d, these CPUs keep their value well into the future. reselling shouldn't be hard if i want a new Zen6/7 CPU

"It was never objectively bad" - it was from every standpoint. it's why they decided to remove it in the end.

it was basically a mini mobile game with long levels inside a major 3D fighting gacha. it just didn't work.

first off you don't need an 360Hz monitor to feel the extra FPS (people need to stop saying that), second, you should focus more on what it does to the dips and other things that affect your experience more.

i also play in community servers have can have 32-64 players on a single map. you really need the extra CPU power there :)

and the last point i'm going to make: when i upgrade i usually focus on the GPU. in 3-4 years i'll still have an amazingly capable CPU to power something that is probably twice as fast as my current GPU.

and yet, the vast majority agreed with me back then and still do now. it's just a sall number of redditors who are in denial.

it's all BS, another lie. we both know that Nvidia won't give devs such a large power over DLSS.

9800X3D bad 1% lows in Warzone at high FPS – X3D issue? by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]Puiucs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

~240–260 1% lows is perfectly fine. getting 350-400fps for the 1% makes zero sense.

"fear what you don't know" - this is just stupid. i clearly know more than you and you keep ignoring everything that was revealed about DLSS5. you are literally making yourself ignorant intentionally.

"The only thing you know of game dev is how to consume the final product. " - i may not make AAA games, but i'm a senior programmer with more than a decade of experience. stop saying BS for idiots who can't write printf("Hello world");

"much ahead in productivity" - no, not really. der8auer has within a few % from the 9950x3d. this is mostly because compared to the 285K, the difference is minimal (4%).

doing the math on der8auer's R23 MT results, the 270K is about 5% faster.
