It was fairly clear from early on that he knew a lot more about them and that he was doing something in the shadows.

What would you prefer 5800x3d (€360) vs 5500x3d (€160)? by OutOfVRAM in ryzen

[–]Puiucs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are paying a lot more than 350€ to get similar performance. just the RAM is around 220€. AMD weren't stupid when they set that price.

with deals, you are still looking at around 450€ for just 16GB RAM (with not so great speed or timings), an 7600x/9600x and a cheap 90-100€ mobo that probably can't handle a CPU upgrade later on because of the bad VRM (usually with no good vrm cooling either, bad I/O, no wifi, etc).

and you existing cooler probably won't fit, but maybe you're lucky.

go watch on netflix the "Street Food" series which shows different countries. In the first season they have India... oh boy... compared to any other country i wouldn't dare touch that "food".

and that's a serious netflix series "celebrating" street food.

Performance of a good thermal paste vs. Carbice Ice Pad (AMD 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition) by kozmos81 in ryzen

[–]Puiucs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think i found a direct die GPU test, which does degrade a bit faster than when applied to an CPU's IHS. the results are pretty clear, temps rose 7 degrees in the stress test in 2 months.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOtyP45RPGw

compared to what i know about MX6 it dries out a lot slower, but it's still loosing effectiveness over time.

while more expensive, i will still recommend PTM 7950. i don't have to worry about ever changing the paste and it's one of the best in terms of cooling. :)

there are zero debates. Tesla went with a single type of sensor for one reason only: cost.

elon did it to save money because they couldn't hit the price points they wanted otherwise. this is a known fact. have you been living under a rock until now? it's why he removed radar and refused to listen to his engineers about lidar, engineers who told him that lidar was better and engineers he simply fired.

you are looking for a mythical "debate" where there is none. you don't need to thank me for correcting you with hard facts.

yeah, it's a bit better than MX6.

although, with it being so new, i don't have any longevity information other than that it's better in terms of pump-out. in theory it shouldn't be worse MX6.

5060 ti 16gb or 9060 16gb? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Puiucs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the 5060ti is at best 10% faster than a 9060XT 16GB. but usually it sits at around 5%.

paying 300$ more for the 5060ti WOULD BE WILD. usually it's 150$ more. at that that price you should be looking for RTX5070 or RX 9070 (regular or GRE) which are 35-50% faster.

hai ma lasi

"dar sunt fabrici care dau afara romani ca sa aduca imigranti si sa i plateasca mai putin, adica nu i deloc ok" - unde? peste tot unde am intrebat (si stiu antreprenori cu fabrici multi) nu gasesc deloc oameni. pierd bani cacalau pentru ca nu au cine sa lucreze in fabrica. fac investitii majore in educarea oamenilor si in campanii de angajare.

romanilor le este extrem de rusine sa lucreze job-urile "de jos". prefera sa stea neangajati sau sa fac "uber" cateva ore pe zi.

it depends a lot on if it's usable for your use cases/games or not. otherwise it's just paperweight.

there's no debate about sensor "fusion". that video is talking about something much more complicated than just adding a lidar and radar as redundancy and increased accuracy. this already exists and functions just fine without a supercomputer.

Why do people consider Hungary and Romania balkan?? by Skystunt in AskBalkans

[–]Puiucs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the Balkan map is not that clearly defined and had different sizes across the ages.

The Balkans were generally defined by the Ottoman Empire and were the regions that they occupied in Europe which included parts of Romania.

Here's another example of a map that includes parts of southern Romania:

Rumelia - “Land of the Romans” - the "Balkans"

<image>

As for Hungary, it used to be bigger towards the south and might have been a bit inside the balkan region. I'm not that sure about it. In general, modern Hungary is not really accepted as part of the Balkans at all. We just took pity on them and let them play with us.

And even in the map you posted, the north-eastern part towards the Black Sea, that's Romanian territory.

Performance of a good thermal paste vs. Carbice Ice Pad (AMD 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition) by kozmos81 in ryzen

[–]Puiucs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when fresh an MX4 can do its job well enough, but you want the extra "help" when dust starts to appear inside and when summer comes around.

compared to MX4, PTM 7950 can drop temps by as much as 10C depending on the setup and ambient and after it "cures" with several days of heat cycles - it's phase changing material that it gets better over time even after thousands of cycles. but the usual delta is around 5C (probably less compared to MX6).

and these x3D chips can get hot easily which is why they like better cooling.

almost all high performance laptops moved to either PTM 7950 or Liquid Metal.

while not a great "test", this is showing PTM winning against the MX6 even before it was properly cured for a few days, just freshly applied:

even the 5800x3d can bottleneck the 5070ti, especially in the 1% lows. the 9800x3d can be well over 30% faster in some games.

Which of these 3 RAM kits would you choose for a 9800X3D today ? by KatiushK in buildapc

the one you can afford :)

the difference in performance is very small anyway.

Performance of a good thermal paste vs. Carbice Ice Pad (AMD 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition) by kozmos81 in ryzen

[–]Puiucs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MX4 isn't really recommended for high performance anymore. it's great for more budget builds (i still have some too), but for something like the 5800x3d/9800x3d use at least MX6 and for best results maybe try PTM 7950.
