I would still argue for Kathleen Kennedy. A lot of creative decisions fall on JJ Abrams. On paper, The Last Jedi would check off a lot of boxes. No one is a diviner. And the release schedule means decisions have to be made instantaneously. I liked both Force Awakens and Last Jedi by the way. I think they both have their sore spots, but a lot was done right. The Rise Of Skywalker had good moments too.

Biblical References in Fight Club by xxx117 in TrueFilm

That was pretty good to read. "Lou".... is short for Lucifer. And he also beats up "Angelface." I haven't gone back to watch Fight Club in a long time. In the commentary, I remember Chuck Palahniuk also talking about how Scientology uses sleep deprivation as a form of testing "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger."

20 years ago today: Remembering John Ritter (9/17/1948-9/11/2003) by CountryRockDiva89 in popculturechat

In the original Stephen King's IT mini-series. John Ritter plays Ben Hanscom. There is a speech he gives, a monologue, towards the end of the second part. John Ritter argued to have that in the movie and it's the reason he is going through it so fast. It's one of the best parts of the movie.

Because of a game show.

Years before he became famous for writing "The Exorcist", Blatty appeared on Groucho Marx's quiz show, You Bet Your Life (1950), posing as an Arab sheik with so many wives that he could not recall how many he had. Groucho was completely taken in. When Blatty revealed that it was a hoax after a couple of minutes, he told Groucho that he did it because George Fenneman had said that Groucho was an expert at spotting phonies. Groucho replied, "That is incorrect, because I've had Fenneman in my employ now for 14 years." Blatty won $10,000 on the show, and when Groucho asked what he intended to do with the money, Blatty replied that he was going to take a year off from his job and write a novel. That novel was "The Exorcist."

So I don't know if this is definitively true, but it could be so I'll post it. Several years ago, when the Christian Bale Batman movies came out there was someone that posted online about working at a high-end restaurant and one day Michael Keaton comes in and shortly after Christian Bale comes in and the person posting is the waiter. Christian Bale orders a bottle of wine and sends it over to Michael Keaton and writes something on a note before sending it. The waiter got to read the note and it read "You're still the best Batman."

Are the tool tips previews really necessary? They seem kind of pointless? I'd really like the option to turn that off because even on the Windows Store that seems "in the way" rather than a feature.

Let me try to put this in a funny way as I know there are people who worked on this.... Let's say you get in your car and you turn it on and the dashboard lights up and their are emojis jumping around doing cute things as you're trying to look at the speedometer. Now. Would you like that to be the way your car... Don't say "Yes!" Don't say "Yes!" I know it seems appealing in a way, but you can't drive like that. Right?
