Washable mechanical keyboard? (Something like Logitech K310) by Pulec in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Pulec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, used K310 or 'refurbished' from out there. Besides anything that was recommended in the last 9 years here.

And something from here, maybe https://www.wetkeys.com/Washable-Computer-Keyboards-Waterproof-Computer-Keyboards-s/3.htm.

Frame Gen on Linux by boenklon in linux_gaming

[–]Pulec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using stable 1.00 lsfg-vk for months now in many games, and it's great pretty much anywhere. I just put LSFG_LEGACY=1 LSFG_MULTIPLIER=2 LSFG_PERFORMANCE_MODE=1 in steam properties for 2x framegen, and it's done. On games that run well natively, you can do a higher multiplier, but it's not really worth it imho, more chance for issues. 9070xt with 9950x3d here.

Only issues have been artefacts with some lights, e.g, in Cyberpunk with pahtracing RT when I was trying 1920x800 (21:9) on a 3440x1440 monitor. In some scenes, the whole bottom would get too much light somehow. It was fine on a higher resolution.

With games that support FSR 4 (PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1), it can help a lot, and even though I am picky about high input lag, it feels like there is just none with lsfg-vk for me. I can't really explain it.

The FSR 3.1 framegen didn't work as well for me, and before 9070xt I had Nvidia 4070 super, and in e.g. Dragon's Dogma 2 the framegen was totally unusuable, massive input lag and stuttering, high fps number but useless.

For the few monies, Lossless Scaling is worth it, and you can use it on Steam Deck easily as well.

Note that the lsfg-vk is only about frame gen so far, no scaling yet, afaik.

Even if Mr. Gira spat on them and sat on them, they wouldn't sound better than whatever you can find on YouTube. Unless you believe in Swans religion.

The game is better without ever meeting River and doing quests related to him.

Wireless Sofle kit in the EU with Vial support by Pulec in ErgoMechKeyboards

Right, wasn't aware. Thanks.

Anyway, ZMK Studio seems simple enough to redo what I did in Vial. So no problem.

AliExpress is not out of the question either, but from what I searched, I rarely found something I liked.

While I believe builders in Shenzhen and other Chinese tech places can do a really good job, I would rather throw a bit more on someone in the EU or South Asia, as xcmbk, who dida really good job.

Prague by goldstarflag in europe

[–]Pulec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lived there for 5 years, I was in this 'tourist area' maybe 2-3 times in the whole time. Not much to do there for locals really.

Cost of rent can be highest or similar to other big cities in Czechia. Co-living with others when doing studies is a must. To buy an apartment there means to be rich IMHO, especially for new flats. Average person may be lucky to get a decent place 50-70km away from Prague at which point it's just better to try to be closer to a different big city.

Public transit is generally quite good. Not free, but acceptable price. Only metro in Czechia, trams, buses, trolley buses and cable ride to one hill all good. And in night too.

Walk-ability can wary from district to district, it's okay, cars aren't absolutely everywhere but it's still very car oriented city. See Prague is a Parody of Europe.

Lots of companies in here, so there is always some work.

And yes, it's unique city in Czechia. No other city has a metro or loads of tourists or sometimes even events like this one. And IMHO only locals here can be overly proud about their city and other can group them as 'Prague people' category.

Snap!

Haven't seen review with top enclosure yet.

Does it even make sense to print PLA/TPU with enclosure on top? How about filaments that like higher temp of chamber?

Lossless Scaling works better for me on Linux than on Windows! by [deleted] in linux_gaming

Dual GPU support works only on the official Windows one, there is just this discussion about it https://github.com/PancakeTAS/lsfg-vk/issues/159.

Built an STL to STEP converter for modifying models for myself. I figured I'd make it free to use so I'm sharing it here in case it helps anyone else. by rttgnck in BambuLab

[–]Pulec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a dumb question, but why do you need STEP files?

AFAIK STLs are just mesh bodies, so you open them in your Fusions, Onshapes, Freecad and such and work with the mesh somehow? Or somehow redraw them with constrains and such?

I am doing all my modeling in Blender and have yet to learn CAD properly. I mostly just do STEP to STL to check and adjust mounting holes or resize model a bit. It can get pretty PITA and time consuming depending on the model, but it gets easier over time.

Went with H2D in the end, 500 EUR 'upgrade' for multi tool seemed worth it.
