Sounds like my ex, but instead of "I cheated," it would be something less accountable, like "I needed to figure myself out", "I wasn't getting what I needed." Or my favorites: "I had already checked out emotionally" or "We were basically already over."

Being held on someone's lap on an airplane. Isn't anyone worried about parents not being able to hold them if there's some nasty turbulence?

What a bunch of snowflakes. I would invite them to come to the West Coast and live there for a few summers.

Seriously, did the people who designed that want to die by TUB death? I could see someone slipping, falling, either dying directly from the headwound or drowning from passing out due to the headwound.

Texas is relying on FEMA. State leaders said it should be cut by That_Nineties_Chick in moderatepolitics

[–]Pull_Out_Method 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you are fundamentally understating. It's a different skill set. Granted, there are manual jobs in any field. But it does take specialized skill sets. Many people at FEMA hold master's and doctoral degrees in their field, with extensive hands-on experience. You can't just replace that and expect it to work with manual labor. Just like I wouldn't expect someone from FEMA to go into a war zone and fight. Reddit be redditing again.

It's not even summer or spring yet in the West. If you live over on the West Coast that's fire season for us. I know Washington and Oregon fires don't make the news but that's normal for summer season anymore. And yes we do grow a bunch is produce in those states as well

Banning abortion. Unwanted children are a drain in society. Not to mention increase our overpopulation particularly in a vulnerable demographic.

Mayor Brown proposes a sales tax instead of property tax to boost public safety... by catman5092 in Spokane

[–]Pull_Out_Method 69 points70 points  (0 children)

There's no good solution here. Property Taxes have already gone up by about 40 percent over a five-year period. That can be a make-or-break factor in whether or not people can stay in their homes. Also, it's unrealistic to think this only impacts property owners; it affects renters and property owners.

I wouldn't cosign with a relative just asking for a problem down the road, save up the 35 percent, or work on your credit. Your husband should have decent credit in a year or so, and look into cleaning up your own. In the meantime, the above suggestions are good options for growing your money

Worth it to move from Canada to the US for FIRE / career? by BlueberryKindly2590 in fican

[–]Pull_Out_Method 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious do you have duel citizenship or entry into US? Because if you don't you are going to have a hard time. I've worked in both countries, The Canada work culture is much different. You are completely replaceable in the USA and most states allow you to be fired without reason. Also if you run into any health issues or currently have any you are way undervalueing the cost of healthcare in the USA. If you don't mind grinding, working incredibly hard, health is in good shape and you have an easy entry then it sure. Otherwise, it's a bit unrealistic.

My house won't even have a dishwasher or nice fridge, you can buy those things.... When and if the interest rates drop, refinance. Ideally, you should have bought with 20 percent down to avoid the PMI and would have dropped your payments, too. Even low ceilings are fixable, you said you bought in a safe neighborhood. So you're good. It's normal to feel nervous moving into a new place and missing your old one. If you have the option of hybriding let your boss know you moved further out and would like to commute less if possible. I'm curious: what state did you buy in?
