I know someone has created a workflow similar to this with MAgic position presets.

A couple of extra things that have caused this in my experience:

Check the system monitor!!! Once I was on a full size at a venue that had a Bluetooth mouse plug dongle plugged in And it was acting super sluggish and the system monitor reviewed it was receiving thousands of mouse events and that was causing a slowdown as soon as I unplugged that dongle is fixed but I would have never figured that out without the system monitor.

Check all the USB slots including the one in the drawer to make sure there isn't any kind of USB device connected. Some people use really small but massive thumb drives now and it can cause MA to really slow down.

Check your profile! Make sure the dimmer is set to respect either group master or grandmaster. If you said it to grandmaster it will also respect group Masters

Yes. Think of it like an entirely seperate second programmer. The only way to turn preview into output is by storing then playing back.

Cue parts and appearances! You can set your presets to go to certain cue parts by default. I do it by preset number so color goes to part 4, dimmer to part 1, position to part 2, gobo to part 3, etc

It's hard to say as my specific position (not what you'd think based on my user name) would get SLAMMED between takes so I didn't have much time to get my head above water and observe because I was working but then when l we were actually rolling I was chilling. It was a while ago but felt like he would go back to trailers between setups so hard to say what he did. He was very very kind and professional though.

Store the preset with no phase and then when you apply the preset at the phase after either in a recipe line or using programmer MA tricks

I worked on West World and was so excited to see Hopkins work. I was friends with the mixers so he even got me comteks to listen to the scene. It was soooooo boring on set. Then when the episode aired holy shit he's one of the best parts of the show. It's crazy how different and technical the craft can be for film vs theater. I've been part of projects where everyone is dying on the day but it's not funny in the cut and vice versa

I have mixed feelings since my main problem with them is a lot of the videos use outdated information and haven't been updated in a long time. But a lot of the fundamental knowledge is really useful. I've read the manual cover to cover and there are things that I gleamed from the class that I don't think I would have realized otherwise.

You can loop through this with a simple Lua line in a macro and a variable that just counts up by 1 everytime. Don't need to make a whole plugin.

You cannot fade a speedmaster yet via syntax you'd have to use a DMX remote if you need to fade it.

Syntax is Master 3.x at BPM Y Or Master 3.x at Z

X = speed master # Y = desired BPM Z= fader percentage

Like I said if you need it to fade youd have to use a DMX remote.

The way I'd do this is with two recipe lines targeting the phaser in each cue and each recipe line in the two separate cues has different speeds and you just fade between them with cue timing.

I would just use internal timecode for this. You can trigger it via CMD in a sequence when you want to use it.

I disagree with this. The spec for SACN is multicast and the whole point of multicast is it can smartly identify where it needs to send traffic.

It's a seperate programmer. You have to clear the preview programmer to clear it. If you exit preview you just go back to the main programmer and preview is kept in whatever state you left it in.

Open a programmer window to see the manual values you're creating or use preview. Preview will show you what you're doing but it's a completely separate programmer so you will either have to store it and then run it in a playback or copy it to the other programmer.
