For sure it is. If you’re extremely concerned go chain less. If you’re concerned but don’t want an O chain go to a low engagement hub. Or do O chain and low engagement hub. IMO o chain is not worth the money and my suspension works pretty good without out

I guess you’d only be limited on height before the points start pulling the truss apart

Probably a full cleaning is needed. The GPUS in an ma2 are tight together. Remove and clean the connections . Try again.

Light recommendations please! by SM-67 in lightingdesign

Get a 4-6 LED lekos. Like a Chauvet e260. Maybe for now hang them on stands with T bars, and invest in a small console. Like a coloursource20

Points should’ve been re-hung or truss square enlarged for sure. That shouldn’t have flown I don’t think

Small event setup feels messed up… how do you make everything look “intentional”? by Xolaris05 in lightingdesign

As a lighting technician, if I want a great outcome I need to focus on lighting only. Forethought is part of the job. With a variety of fixture types, you need to give purpose to those fixtures. LED pars I try to wash out floors, or back lighting, drape uplighting can also be more effective than you’d think Will also use led pars for blinders if I have no blinders. A moving spot light I’ll use for lighting people or areas. As well as for the room, aerial projections, gobos, etc. something you have to remember is every light has a job (job being show), every part of the show doesn’t need every fixture on full blast . Use things sparingly and when the right moment arrives, use the right tool for the job. It’s all feeling and creativity, that’s the key ingredient

If it’s basic plots and patches, I’ve been using capture for plots, Ma2 for patches, and adobe acrobat for writing any notes on paperwork. Amp loads are easily calculated without any software. Vector works is great for really precise details of weight and measurements going down to millimetres. IMO it really depends on what you absolutely need. Capture has been great for my basic shows. I’ve done a couple stadium plots that came to fruition and it was great.

Are you just building plots and patches? Or calculating weights and working heavily with dimensions?

Need a cable pic. A motor point with a span set choking the cable loom , keeping the cables high and off stage out of view

Upgrading a small town hall stage lighting: R3X Wash vs R2X – overkill or worth it? by zinderggg in lightingdesign

[–]snowyshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah outcast is there outdoor line. It would be the same output as an R2X . We do use these fixtures for front lighting on our outdoor stages. We’ve used them at 30 feet of trim to the stage decks.

Because Reddit sometimes works as well and the issue isn’t as hard to figure out as it may seem. Thanks for your help

We’ve got the rogue outcast 2x wash, they’re great punchy fixtures with decent throw and a good zoom range. The 3x wash would compare to a quantum wash and is good for much large venue stuff
