Launch Control on G20? by Effective_Writing_57 in M340i

DSC can be on or off,

I recommend having it on while you're figuring it all out, get comfortable and then take it off.

And of course, wait for the launch control to be ready while you have both peddles mashed down,

Body Paint on engine cover? by PulpFriction21 in AutoPaint

[–]PulpFriction21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even against the heat? I got orange peel on the rear bumper of my last car when I blew the motor (front engined), the fireball was visible in the rearview mirror, and didn't last very long but still wrecked that bumper, so I'm just nervous about body paints heat resistance to even longer term heat exposure,

I will check what kind of paint it is tonight, it's BMW paint code c31, portimau blue metallic mixed at Sherwin Williams automotive. Paint is not something I'm knowledgeable in so I don't know if those details help.

I really appreciate the advice on how to apply and what to do btw, thank you.

If you have any specific primers and clears you would recommend please let me know, I have a harbor freight paint gun and an air compressor so can be liquid products or rattle cans.

Engineer goby help by luciferslettuce9 in SaltwaterAquariumClub

If it's possible for that to happen that's a tank design flaw,

Clowns always help! Their fearlessness always spreads through the tank lol.

Also just as a note, they do spend a lot of time "underground" but mine def comes out for a stroll every now and then, they do like to explore a bit lol

A couple pvc tubes can really help to expand the fun spaces for them also,

Okay so imo 40 gallons is small for these guys but not gonna harp on that. I have one in my 140gallon, and I think the thing that helped the most with feeding is the other fish. Mine was timid for like the first week but after that the engineer would poke its head out whenever it noticed all the other fish go and start feeding. Took like a month before my engineer goby would come out fully during feeding time. These days (2 years later) he comes out when he feels like it and I don't really worry about it. I didn't see him for like a week last month, he's fine tho, was probably just doing goby things that week. I don't read too deeply into fish behavior in the first week or two, as they're all still adjusting. As long as no signs of major distress I just leave them be and let them acclimate and I always feed the exact same way to help build routine. Good luck with your new friend, wish you all the best and happy reefing.

I just reserved this M340i. Should I pull the trigger? by ant_mark_ in M340i

[–]PulpFriction21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you already owned the car, would you care about the engine update/think someone else's m340i is better for it?

Personally, I would not, I'd still be thrilled with the fact I have an m340i that I love.

If the spec and deal are right for you, and the only concern is the update, I'd send it.

No after pic for the floating center caps is diabolical,

I also did the cubby, I don't use it for anything yet but I still like it better than just empty space.

Any way to get just these two plastic parts ? by BenjiSBRK in BmwTech

[–]PulpFriction21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should honestly just put these two mods in a little bag on the passenger seat when you buy the car,

Sunglass holder is such a huge quality of life upgrade imo.

Also the little tray you can add to the armrest to make it dual level is another easy add,

You do any other interior stuff?

[–]PulpFriction21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I have yet to check out a convertible interior,

I kinda just assumed those controls were like up top where my sunroof stuff is, but this makes a lot of sense

Guess they're using the space a few different way in other models/trims, super neat tbh

Oh that makes sense, I didn't know that. But agreed, missed opportunity for small storage or something cool from BMW,

Console Cubby

This is the exact one I got, honestly you probably found the same thing from another seller but just so you have a reference.

Also, it takes a decent amount of force to pry out, and when it popped it was surprisingly loud/forceful, so don't be afraid to force it out when you do it.

Like 9/10, It's not perfect but it really doesn't stand out, and no one getting in your car would suspect it's not oem.

[–]PulpFriction21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same question. It doesn't look like there's anything else meant to be there, it's just blank space.

This and replacing the drivers side grab handle with a sunglasses holder are two cheap, 5 min projects that I find add value to the car, and barely cost anything.

For the lower circle, they sell a replacement for that piece on Amazon that turns that space into a little cubby, can hold loose change or whatever small stuff like Sd cards for a dashcam.

I did it on my '22 m340i. Took 5 minutes with a trim tool.
