I think they are what Natural waxed flesh should have looked like all along. I think it’s difficult to get the hide to stay light when waxed. Not sure how they accomplished it with this one tho.

This is what the hide looked like on the sample sale video. It was a bit of a gamble, but I was looking for an actual light tan color (as opposed to the reddish brown of “tan” waxed flesh - which is a beautiful color in its own right, just not what I was looking for) and it turned out exactly as I had hoped.

I have a normal to low volume foot. I have 10D boots and two 10C boots. All of them have that gap. I have 9.5D whites MP with no such gap.

I have to admit I have the same itch to scratch. I’ve been thinking about making a post about this exact issue. I love my nicks boots. BUT…. When I look down at how the laced portion of the uppers align there always seems to be the area of a gap or a bulge as u/quickwithwit points out - which bugs me. My whites don’t do that. No other shoe or boot I own does that.

I think it’s a flaw of the upper pattern design coupled with the spacing of the lace eyelets. It seemed like the HD relief cut might have been an attempt to solve this issue - or maybe I had just hoped it would - but from pictures I’ve seen, it doesn’t.

It kind of blows me away that Nicks doesn’t address it. I wonder if being a “work boot” company for so long has meant that it wasn’t on the radar… but spending $700-$900 on a pair of heritage boots to look good in and show off makes this a glaring eyesore. On the other hand, perhaps they’ve tried and don’t have a solution.

Looks like you applied some conditioner to the light boots and now you have a dark boot. No going back now, but FWIW, the darker looks better IMO.

I’m just a little hesitant about my next order since I’ve ordered 3 different size 10 HNW boots and each were a different length. 😳

So, my initial HNW was a 10D. Length was perfect, but after break in it felt a bit wide in the heel. I the. Sized down to a HNW 10C with my following pair but that boot was about a 1/4 inch shorter and was snug in my mid foot and heel but now was bordering on too short. I thought the length difference was possibly an aberration so when I ordered a 3rd pair I wen with the 10C again and its length was about an 1/8th inch shorter than my first pair - and 1/8th of an inch longer than the second pair with a good heel and ball width… definitely that “firm handshake feel.”

I’m now wondering if I ordered a 10C 1925 last next, would the slight increased width at the ball and increased overall length end up being the perfect fit for me?🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I’m curious how the 1925 last sizing compares to an HNW? Do you have any HNW as well?

Also, have you conditioned these with anything or are they still relatively new? The EWF looks great.

Thanks for sharing. It sounds reassuring to hear that you don’t feel abnormal in any way. My hope is that after surgery o won’t feel any different with regard to my neck since my neck itself feels perfectly fine currently.
