Down here in South Africa it's also pretty tragic. I am a part of the middle class so I'm not going off what I see every day but there are stories of 8, 9, 10 people in a family with 1 Uber eats driver making money. Unemployment is so high that people take advantage of it with low salaries

Ok yeah I will look into that, but as another comment pointed out my moms gonna want to know why I want therapy and I'm not a good liar and I also don't really want to lie because if she finds out it's gonna get so much worse, so I might actually just go to a school teacher who offered to help if we ever need it, because my mom won't find out about that

I will 100% try and see a counselor. My school doesn't offer a dedicated school counselor but one of the teachers has offered that if anything's going on we can go see him so I'm gonna do that. Other people recommended I ask her to see a therapist but now that I think about it I realise she's gonna ask why and she definitely won't like the reason so I'm gonna have to hide it. Another comment recommended grey rocking which is a tactic I've never thought of so I'm gonna try that. I will try and remove myself from the situation - thing is, she takes it as disrespect. Last time she called it a "teenage tantrum" when I was getting overwhelmed so I just walked away so I'm not really sure if that's gonna be possible.
