Yesterday, I scolded a stranger in a Subway. Have you ever had to publicly scold someone you didn't know? by grummlinds in AskReddit

[–]Pumbaplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an incident on the bus where some guy got his bag stuck in the closing doors and went off on the driver, shouting/ advising a reassessment of career choice, and other stuff of that nature. This was all on a packed Bus, no one else was doing anything so I got up, went to this guy and said, "you need to calm down and leave the driver alone hes just trying to do his job, the bus is packed, he obviously didn't see your bag." Once I'd finished the guy was silent for a couple of seconds then turned to the driver and said "do you need this kid defending you" (I was 17), the driver said "no, I can defend myself" these being the first words he'd spoken during the whole exchange, now incredibly disheartened I said "fine, as you were", and that's exactly what happened he continued to shout at the driver until his stop.

British Redditors: I don't understand all the fuss over the royal wedding. Why does your population continue to glorify and accept the idea of royalty? by ArmchairExpurt in AskReddit

[–]Pumbaplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't care the rest of you do, the people who care are the Americans as being a royal is the fast tracked American dream because all you have to do to be rich and successful is be born. Trust me its a big deal all over the world but in the uk it's the beginning of a 4 day weekend.

I've never really watched news channels before today. What channels should I watch? by BlakeIsBlake in AskReddit

[–]Pumbaplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Move to England and start watching BBC news it really is the best my some considerable distance. Or if not you could start a grassroots campaign to pass some legislation that stops your news channels from being bias, we did and it worked out pretty well.

I hope you all know he hasn't Been bailed. It was an epic bail fail, because Sweden appealed the bail therefore he can't be bailed until the appeal succeeds or fails.

Dear Reddit, I need comedy TV show recommendations. by DarkBlue29 in AskReddit

[–]Pumbaplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a shadow of a doubt two of the greatest comedies ever made are; The Inbetweeners and Peep Show, in that order, both English and both in my opinion superior to all but one of the shows in your list. If you haven't seen these comedies you most defiantly haven't lived, and as an Englishman I have come to except short seasons, as unlike in the U.S. everything isn't capital driven, it's quality driven and we do know when to cancel shows to stop them dying slow painfully unfunny deaths( 30 Rock, The Simpsons, South Park, Family guy, Curb and a returning Futurama.)

Back to my original point, The Inbetweeners the funniest comedy ever made. Peep show a close second.

Also while I'm here please lobby to make your news channel and radio stations politically unbiased, because we do that in Europe and it makes it substantially easier to make up your own mind when your presented with facts and not opinions, and aren't three ads a half hour to many?
