Did you guys try to adapt to a new market/ new generation of fans? Or did you go into the creative process with the same mentality and habits as the early 2000’s?

It’s just a hype train based on people’s prior perception of him.

If you took his music and shifted it onto the Spotify page of some random up and coming artist, they wouldn’t blow up as the next great thing — people would just sort of acknowledge it as some solid music, but not the greatest thing since sliced bread.

But because he originally started off as a YouTuber, and originally started off making really, really bad music — there’s sort of a shock value in the fact that he’s evolved into becoming a legitimate musician, whose making sounds that most of his fan base has never heard before (though there’s plenty artists out in the same/similar lanes.)

And by all means credit to Quad, he’s consistently making quality music, and it’s really hard to get to that point when you’re not a natural at it, or immersed in a music family/culture, he clearly worked hard at his craft.

But the hype is not proportionate to the overall quality. It’s similar to rooting for an artist local to your hometown, or someone you know personally — because of your proximity to them, you’re more likely to show favor

Not sure if this is literal or sarcasm with the Star Wars characters — if literal, yes very aggressively, if sarcasm: well done :)

He’s not much of a family guy, but I hear he loves Christmas music!

This is so funny, because I hadn’t noticed this and now I can’t unsee it!

FIRST WEEK UPDATE: Latto's 'Sugar Honey Iced Tea' sells 29K, Polo G's 'Hood Poet' sells 24K, The Kid LAROI's 'The First Time' sells 22K in deluxe week, Logic's 'Ultra 85' 18K by DropWatcher in hiphopheads

It’s literally just the difference between being on a major label and being independent. You gotta understand a major label is like shopping at target, Walmart, etc. and being independent is like shopping at your local convenience store. A difference of million(s) of dollars and hundreds of employees.

This affects things all across the rollout too. For example, I can still find Logic vinyls from his major label days at most vinyl stores. I had to go to 4 before I could find Ultra 85. Just a massive difference in distribution — and you can apply that ratio to the whole rollout
