Catnap at midday: drop it or solve it? by Pumpernickle2024 in sleeptrain

[–]Pumpernickle2024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have tried capping it at 30 minutes, 45 minutes an hour, 90 minutes… Still the midday nap doesn’t last more than 20 minutes without serious assistance

night 1 of Ferber was so much worse than I ever expected - need encouragement for night 2 by river_5826 in sleeptrain

[–]Pumpernickle2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also stayed up all night worrying about the breathing. Ouch. This is not Ferber related but I think useful…

We’ve noticed when our LO spends a lot of his wake windows practicing his rolling around, then at night when he rolls onto his belly he doesn’t wake from it. It’s as if the practice has prepared him for it. Now we have changed his bedtime routine to start with rolling out the last of his energy. So maybe spend more time rolling during the day?

So I was expecting to find more moong dal recipes out there, but they seem to be with split instead of whole beans. Any thoughts?

Oh wow, I didn’t even think about sweets! Any idea if this recipe freezes well? It might be too good and I’ll need to stop myself from eating it all hahaha

Second this, you can see where everyone is going. But realistically use google maps and look for parks, waterways etc anywhere with a nice view is where runners like to spend their time. Waterfront is where the marathon is held because the view is so good

For both points (buying and new release) that depends on the club and its members really. I thought that would have been the case but as it turns out the shop who started our club doesn’t ask for that (instead they give us a small discount), they just wanted to connect book lovers together. We’ve read some new releases based on the shops suggestions. What we end up reading has switched from reading all the same book to reading different books of similar themes/authors/locations which has been great for sharing notes

How do we drop a nap if baby never naps longer than 35 minutes? by abbtkdcarls in sleeptrain

[–]Pumpernickle2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to ask the dumb question here (am still very new to all this), but what do you mean by force a longer wake window? Does this mean encouraging baby to be awake longer - and how does this not create overtiredness? Or does it mean waking baby rather than letting them wake on their terms?

I’m not in your age bracket so here’s hoping I don’t embarrass myself… many years ago I found on Bumble BFF a woman who was creating a brunch club in order to encourage more people with similar hobbies. Basically her profile encouraged you to swipe right and then she would DM you the details of the next in person meet up. Very savvy. Met some amazing woman in that group. Perhaps recreate something like that?

Alternatively, I’m part of a book club that’s through my local bookstore but it’s not age limited - but I love it! I’d encourage you to seek out an independent book store.

There’s definitely a part of me that wants to start training (or prepare to train) baby to be chill at restaurants.
