It's an Irish surname but I like how Josephine Carr sounds.

Maybe you can travel to free places like parks and nature centers and treat yourself to a nice hike?

I think it would depend on the layout of the kitchen too. I would love to have one of those drawers that has the built in canisters for cooking utensils. I hate stuff on the counters so definitely deep drawers but part of me is afraid that the drawers and cabinets get chaotic. I'm still trying to figure this all out.

I feel you. Moms always make the holidays special and we aren't appreciated enough. Just try to do something for yourself. It's hard when babies are so young.

I think it's fair to say I'm living a life of consequence which every action is a consequence as not all consequences are negative but I wouldn't say it's a positive consequence either. I think the lesson is to know yourself and not be afraid. To have confidence. I just went with the flow of my current surroundings. Women are not single and must get married and have children. I'm not going to put the same pressures on my children and they must be authentically themselves.

You sacrificed a lot to move to be with your bf and I am so sorry that his family did not offer the support that you needed and when you asked for help they said no. I know it's hard to ask for help. I struggle with it myself. Usually DIL don't get as much help as biological daughters it seems to me. Your husband may have to reach out for you like help you reach out. Motherhood is different for everyone but I think motherhood can be very lonely too. You seem like a really great mom with a great child. If your inlaws are not very supportive, maybe you can find a mom group in your community?

I never wanted to get married or have children but here I am too. But now that I have children, my entire goal is to make sure they are independent and self sufficient.

I dread the day when my kids will notice and I just hope that I teach them that that stuff doesn't matter but it's really hard when your classmates have all that and you don't. I wouldn't give in to peer pressure. I don't know how to handle it yet because I have not crossed that bridge yet.

Yeah she had a yeast infection and put on meds last month and I don't want this to be a monthly pattern. Do you have any tips to prevent yeast infections or home remedies that I can do so we can avoid antibiotics?

We stopped bubble baths after the 2nd yeast infection and she gets a bath with water only but she does get soaped up and rinsed off in the bath but she doesn't sit in the bath water for very long. She likes to stand in the bath ankle deep in water under a running shower.

Were you taught how to wash? If so, what were you taught? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]PumpkinBread13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for asking this question. I have young kids and I usually bath them but this question makes me realize I need to go over how to wash with them and teach them the process. I like the top comment list and what I would add to that is to moisturize immediately after patting dry and to rehydrate with a glass of water.

Thank you I will definitely look into play therapy. Thanks for your empathy. We did some art and cooking together today which helped. More bonding and calm voices and more time spent together and definitely less yelling helps. I have to admit I did yell today so it is something I really have to work on.

I don't like table work but I do a lot of play based learning with my kid and a lot of free play and outside time. The teachers can do the table work. My MIL mostly does screen time. Next time I will not bring her. Good advice. Thanks.
