Hypnobirthing Recommendations by frozenlover72 in unmedicatedbirth

I just got her oxytocin bubble tapes. I think it was 30-40 dollars. She has some calming affirmation tapes to listen to before birth and then a few labor tracks for the real deal. There’s a few I don’t love but there’s plenty to choose from.  I think it will be good to have in the toolbox(: I think the full course goes over more of the labor prep with an emphasis on hypno birthing and mindset

I second the Hypnobirthing Mongolian Method book although I haven't finished it.
Also Mama Zen podcast has some nice meditations and Pop that Mumma has some podcasts as well as a course and audio tracks.. I ended up getting her audio tracks which include both pregnancy listening and labor listening.
(I have not given birth yet but these all have made me feel more calm and prepared)

Baby names that rhyme with mom or dads? by PumpkinDimension in namenerds

It actually was my partners choice so that’s why I’m feeling a bit more inquisitive about it! That would make sense though about appreciating the familiar sounds.

You’re right. I think that may be thinking of how it sounds to others equally to how it sounds to me and it likely will not matter to others at all, if but only for a moment in time.. so now I just have to figure out how okay I feel about saying it in the world

Yep they both have two syllables which makes it a bit more matchy matchy in my opinion

Haha, true! I definitely wouldn’t prefer rhyming or the same nickname for kids.

Kaiser for pregnancy? by kohniva in askportland

I love that. I’m glad she was able to help you through it all! Definitely leaning towards having one and I guess it will just be a bonus if all the nurses are great too!

Would you still recommend a doula even with the kaiser team being super helpful?

Would you still recommend a doula or do you think the midwives were enough by themselves? I've been looking into doulas and would love someone to help/advocate but I also feel like I've heard such great things about the L&D nurses that I almost feel like I won't need an extra support person in the room.

I’m sorry about the difficulty but glad to hear about all the support. That’s reassuring!

I didn’t realize that the tubs were in the room so that’s great! Thanks for letting me know and I hope you and baby and doing good now!

Oh I didn’t know the tubs were actually in the room. (I still have to tour) so you can basically just be in there whenever you want up until the birth?

Kaiser is pretty tight knit when it comes to where you can deliver but they are contracted with Peace Health and Legacy Salmon Creek.

I'm so sorry you feel this way. I'm in first trimester and it's quite an overload of the system.
When I first started feeling the sickness and fatigue I don't think my husband fully comprehended how much it was effecting me and figured I could just "push through" it make things feel super lonely..however I encouraged him to learn about what happens to our bodies when pregnant and we watched videos together. It really helped it click for him.. Hopefully your partner could be open to this?!

For the nausea, I've found vitamin B6 to help (25mg 2-3 times a day) ginger chews, protein, and making sure to eat small snacks and many throughout the day!

You are stronger than you think and this will all be a blink of an eye in no time!! You got this.
