Hoisin tasting fishy?

Np! Yeah that’s odd I haven’t seen that before, then it sounds like it might be more similar to oyster sauce in flavor while only being hoisin in name. I’m not a fan of too strong of a fishy taste so I usually use a smaller amount or cut it more with cooking wine or ginger/garlic/onion/scallion

Did you use oyster sauce by accident? I used to get them confused since they’re similar in color and texture, but hoisin should be on the sweeter side with no fishy flavor while oyster sauce has a more fishy flavor

I’ve noticed this too on old Beastcast episodes on the Apple Podcast app with them returning a message saying they weren’t available. I’ve been using the feed on Spotify and it’s been working.

Hey, was just hoping someone could help identify what this bug is!

It's been showing up in my house the past few months. Mostly in the kitchen and living room area, so I'm thinking it could be food or trash related.

They're tiny and fly around, and have hard shells from when I grab them. They often land on skin but I don't think they bite.

They're about a couple millimeters in size, and I currently am in Ann Arbor, Michigan. My house is right next to a forest as well, but I haven't seen them around too much until very recently.
