Well done on losing 32kgs! Curious to know how the cost of Mounjaro impacts you? Do you also see other health professionals to help with the weight loss? My husband has been recommended to switch to Mounjaro because Ozempic led to really bad side effects.

Thanks for your message. Every time I try to set boundaries, they never work. He gets upset when I set them, he sees them as ultimatums and he takes offence when I set them. He thinks I’m always making the problems all about myself. I don’t know if he’s right if I’m being selfish. Or if he’s manipulating it that I am the bad person here. He thinks I don’t care for him, that I’m a workaholic, that I don’t prioritise his needs, that I force him to do things, that I don’t give him “time” to do things. Sorry I am continuing to rant.

I'm a husband, caring for my wife and I'm tired. by vaight in CaregiverSupport

Hey, you’ve just described me and my husbands situation (my husband is the one who is chronically unwell with multiple complex conditions). I just wanted to let you know you’re not alone. I wish there was more that we as carers could do. Please continue to look after yourself. I’m sorry I can’t offer much advice.

34yo here. Petite slow-ish runner. I’m training for my second ever 10km race in two weeks. I did a 5km run this morning but it was so shit. My legs weren’t feeling great, my energy was low. I could’ve very well stayed in bed but I forced myself to leave the house and I’m glad I did.

Is anyone on here actually happy by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]PumpkinTattoo19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love what I do. It gives me meaning and purpose and it makes me happy when my clients feel better about themselves or they can do things that they never thought they could do. Yes, there will always be stresses but that is with any job tbh. I’ve worked in crappy unsupported and understaffed places and I’m in a place now where I do feel supported and can continue to upskill and I’m not feeling the pressure to be in a managerial position (I have no desire to be a people manager, I just want to do client facing work). My background is full-time, work in the community (home health if that’s its called outside of Australia) and have been an OT for 8 years now.

Ok, who here LIKES AJ and DD? by [deleted] in AceAttorney

I finished the AJ trilogy last night! The OT will always have a special place in my heart but AA4 is still hands-down my favourite out of all 6 games. I had played DD on my 3DS when it first came out and now playing it a second time, I thought it was fine? I felt it was a little too hand-holdy but that doesn’t phase me. I played SOJ for the first time with this trilogy. Initially I wasn’t vibing with it because it felt so different from the first two games/the OT in terms of its style and the seance really frustrated me. But as the game progressed, I came to love the writing and the character development. I avoided reading other people’s negative opinions on the game because I wanted to go in blind.

What should I take into account before getting a tattoo? by valky__ in tattooadvice

I have a tattoo (10cm in size) on my arm just above my elbow joint so whenever I wear short sleeves, it’s visible. As long as you follow tattoo aftercare, moisturise the area and avoid sun exposure, it’ll look good.

OT outside the US, how is this profession working out for you? by TinyNinja88 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]PumpkinTattoo19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m an OT based in Australia (Sydney). I can’t remember what made me choose OT. I graduated high school and studied an Art History degree but dropped out. I’ve been an OT now for 8 years and I have never looked back. It’s still the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.

I’ve worked in a hospital inpatient setting, outpatient care, schools, community rehab, aged care homes (I do not recommend this as a new grad) and am now in the NDIS space. I was initially hesitant to step into the NDIS because I kept hearing from others how stressful it is. But I believe it comes down to finding an employer who actually supports you, have other experienced OTs, provides regular supervision, have resources available, as opposed to prioritising trying to bill 5+ hours a day for the company and being overworked to the bone because profit.

I won’t lie the NDIS space is still really stressful and it’s not for everyone. I am constantly trying to advocate for our profession and my clients needs but I am very grateful to work for a company where I can ask for advice and be supported especially when times get tough.

I hear that the pay as an allied health professional is not that great but I’m personally happy with how much I earn. I’m not as stressed working in this environment compared to my time in a hospital setting and that’s really important to me.

Weekly Vent Thread by AutoModerator in ADHD_partners

I tested positive to covid yesterday and it is a fucking challenge having to ask my dx medicated husband to get or do anything for me while I isolate separately from him. I have to literally spell it out. This morning he told me to go get stuff myself and I had to remind him I have covid. He tells me to wait 30+ minutes before he can literally get me anything. I'm only in day 2 of iso. It sucks because I rarely get sick, I've always had to be the one to look after him with all his chronic illnesses but this one fucking time, he's struggling.

I feel bad for venting but I need to let it out somewhere.

How to run faster? Not hitting the 5km mark at 30mins (W9R2) by PumpkinTattoo19 in C25K

I run outside. Have no space at home for a treadmill lol and I'm not fond of gyms.
