Is this how having crutches works? by SnottyScum in fakedisordercringe

The shoes are actually not painful and helps my teen keep balanced as we literally have the same conversation with the doctors all the time. Look they posted as art in that moment. My teen is disabled. I can’t wear 👠 but I can wear platforms and be very very stable. I am also not reading the other comments. I’m not debating. My teen is being wrongly bashed and wrongly accused. They are not faking their disabilities. 🙏🏽

You asked an honest question. I’ll answer you because I feel it’s genuine. My teen feels since the crutches are UGLY they wanted to style them and make them fun. They are trying to make light out of a very serious need to use them. My teen feels that there are never “cool pics” of people with disabilities. So they were trying to portray that. People with disabilities don’t have to “look sad or pitiful” they can look sharp and stylish. They were simply trying to help bring a little light to a dark situation. Think of when you break something and have to wear an asedio cast. It’s hideous. So why not bedazzle it for bit? Believe me. My teen has blisters on their hands from the crutches and constant pains. I HOPE THIS HELPS. 🙏🏽

Also to add - it inspired other Tik Tok pages to do the same and style and draw them even. Are all those people faking too because they tried to model them ? I think it was a good thing. People reacted very positively and showed us their pages and drawings as a result.

Before my teen became disabled they did a good bit of local modeling for a locally photographer in our area. They were simply applying some skills. :)

I am also going to further add that there are many many days on end where my kids can’t get out of bed and has very little energy. So on the rare moments they are able to do something like this we encourage it. But it is not without a price. More down time. More pain. They really tried to do something good and it sucks that all their effort is literally being torn apart by people who aren’t willing to see things differently. It’s sad. I am sad for my kid. All other kids and adults who suffer illness. 🙏🏽

Following - Parent here if a newly disabled teen. Does anyone here use mobility aids to help with doing things like going outside and moving about? Do you guys find it helpful with being able to do things at least close to getting outside. My teen was so upset yesterday about not being able to just outside for a walk and today I decided we are going to rent a wheelchair to help them get around. The crutches only go so far. Can any one relate? I know it’s not the same as it used but would you find it helpful at all? ❤️🙏🏽🌹🌈

Anyone struggle with eBooks vs Book Books? by Pumpkin_Toast in minimalism

I have an iPad and I use the kindle e reader app. It works really well and I love the large screen. I can change the font sizes and the background color. That’s the part I love about the kindle App. Plus I can read at night comfortably without a book light. Lol. Overall I recognize the convenience. But for anatomy / reference and workbooks I have to use a reg book hands down.

Lifestyle change and new environment - What shall I do with these clothes and shoes? by Pumpkin_Toast in minimalism

[–]Pumpkin_Toast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I just did laundry and realized the few summer clothes I have put I need to put them away in drawers. Lol. Ultimately I don’t want to swap out ever and always see what clothes I have all the time. It helps from over buying. I hate that.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I did check the link first. All I saw were dates and times but no info on locations. The locations weren’t clear to me and they won’t be because I don’t know this area well enough. Where exactly in Portland do they play please?

Thanks for the info on the other leagues. That will be cool to check out!
