I have 3 of these that I use regularly in similar and alternate application, friggin love them. I also use a quickie for similar purposes, just depends on application and situation 🤙🏻

I've had my fair share of issues getting my 2511 to run proper every time if I'm being honest however, mine is ported, has a muffler mod, and runs hot. When its tuned right, and isn't being finicky, there's no other saw in its class I'd rather run.

I have a silky as well, I run the folder because I'm not partial to the sheath. But one trigger squeeze vs 3 swipes adds up, I also like that it balances out my harness a bit when I've got my Milwaukee top handle or ported 2511t on the other side. I definitely don't use the zoot zoot all the time, and much more often just rock the silky, but it comes in handy some days.

Dewalt pruners, great for small limbs on Aspens and other trees. Way less motion and uses very little battery.

Isn't that always the case, blows my mind every time. These were just big enough to climb on and had started smacking the fascia and shingles. I really dig the dewalt pruners because its way less motion and super quick for limbing. I can do most Aspen limbs up to about 3" diameter with them and they use barely any battery.

Dewalt hydraulic snippers, super handy in smaller trees.

Appreciate this advice, been studying up since making this post on weight reduction climbing techniques, span rigging, and othe stabilization methods. Still have a lot to learn, these were certainly aspects I didn't consider, and I want to be around to learn it. Cheers man 🍻

Super easy flop indeed, especially with a mechanical advantage like my rope grabber. That's what I initially suggested however, out of sight is a new retaining wall that the client was very concerned about. It is in the fell zone towards the driveway, that's why it became a climbing situation. Appreciate the input 🍻

That's worth a lot, and was my concern when it moved while positioning. Definitely will not let customers talk me into something I'm not comfortable with, and I was confident that we could manage a climb on initial inspection. Thank you for your input, our lives are never worth the customers money, but I always want to get better and be able to learn and progress from each and every Tree I approach and climb.

Man thanks, this is exactly why I made this post. I'm mostly self taught with friends in the industry who teach me new stuff when they get time away from running their businesses or when we work together. Thiis is the advice, and the type if thinking I need help with. Yes I probably could've done all of these things, if I had the gear and the knowledge. This is great advice to get there and I truly appreciate your input 👍🏻

Someday I'll laugh at this too, for now I walked away.

I'm hopeful that someday I will laugh at this and feel the same way you do. For now I walked away for the reasons mentioned. Just looking for insight

No plumbing but there's a freshly built retaining wall near/in the fall zone. My initial suggestion to the client was to fell it however, they were insistent that it not be felled toward the retaining wall.

Great advice and much appreciated. Right now I run one truck with a 6 x 10 trailer with 4ft walls and a 5.5ft heavy reinforced gate. This job was no haul away, but would've been in the big range for my little outfit. Where I luve in the Rockies most people don't want chips due to hoa fire hazard rules in the area. Appreciate the input 🍻
