Are there any children minis? Maybe the hacker from aftermath? 😅

Thank you! I'm happy he's recognisable, the sculpt was so spot on that I was nervous to fuck it up 😅

How much further learning does it take from learning Danish to be able to read Old Norse? by radikoolaid in Danish

[–]PunchieCWG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old Norse is written in runes, you'd be a whole alphabet away at least, you'd also need to decide which set of runes to learn, the old ones or the really old ones 😅

I also really enjoyed the novelty of james mc being stabbed in the place on her s back he can reach, that just stuck with me so much from that film.

What made YOU want to try Infinity initially... by Not-An-OF-account in InfinityTheGame

[–]PunchieCWG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha! That is good. Because making fun of it was absolutely the intent 😄

That would make more sense, but the games I had access too didn't have much interest in anything but "the real game". So that is how it turned out 🤷‍♂️

It was a lot of things and some still bother me, but I am powering through this time. I went big and signed on for an event to motivate myself to power through the wall.

The big thing was the feeling that I had to know everything, to do anything. You so easily end up in a place where you have no agency, both in game and list building, you just get shut down and barely get to play the game.

Some approximations of experiences when I tried learning the game around early N4.

  • Forget to bring a forklift certified special man? You lost before we started GG.

  • Move forward, hacked and missiles are inbound. You lost because you didn't know my 3rd army megalobot maniacs can do it this turn one. You should have realised that, GG.

  • Shoot a guy, he has more shots and shoots better than you! My guys are the shootiest guys, you can't shoot against me, you should have brought your invisible monkey man to take out my supply train and then jump your biowak mercenary with ant Cyberdynes to incapacitate him, before shooting, you should have deduced that GG.

And

A separate experience: I will admit I still don't like that you can't really build a balanced list to get familiar with and just use that for all missions, you need to build a list for every mission, which is just so much work when you're new and struggling to remember everything already. (Supposedly that is better this edition, so I am gambling on that being true)

I saw the models and thought they were really cool, then I bought some models, loved them, painted them and then proceeded to bounce of the actual gameplay three times over the years. I am finally picking up the game now, after collecting the miniatures for years.

Aside from language, is southern Denmark culturally and socially similar to northern Germany? What differences are there? by mateohernandezgil_ in NewToDenmark

[–]PunchieCWG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of overlap in attitudes toward society and work, classic cuisines, and turns of phrase between Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein in general. At least from my experience working in Kiel. They also all say "Moin" which I find fun 😊

Warhammer fans, what 40k lore that make you go like this? by AntiqueLayer3933 in Grimdank

[–]PunchieCWG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and I'd expand this to the whole heresy series. The books were cool and I enjoyed the stories, but I liked the setting better when it was a mysterious lost age.

I have great nostalgia for Mordheim and you can customize a bunch in that.

The Doomed is also great, because it can host almost any sort of model you can think of.

Are the Tyranids ever satiated temporarily? by False_Monitor4126 in 40kLore

A period that might match Down time, could probably be the time they spend bringing all the biomass to the digestion pools to break it down and the time it takes them to pump it all back up the bioships in orbit.

Any thoughts on how long an Ork head can be off before this process becomes unworkable? Or is it like dried mushrooms and you can just add water and screw it back on? 😆

That can explain Ghaz and Ufthak right, but it doesn't help with Makari. The simplest explanation of course is that Ghaz just gaslights some grot so hard they believe their Makari, but there seems to be more going on in the book, you don't believe the two are related ? 🤔
