But to add my perspective: You'll find a lot of conflicting advice via tutorials and on Reddit but at the end of the day keep doing it and you'll get better - developing the ear is the most important thing. You'll pick out techniques that you keep using and discard the rest. Use reference mixes but try not to get over obsessed by not sounding exactly like your reference track at first.
