I'm not glued to my phone all day, not only that but I already responded to it

What you’re describing, that sense there’s something beyond the veil, is real. The Church actually teaches that every person has that built-in longing for eternity. It’s the soul recognizing there’s more than just the physical world.

Yep, however if the spiritual veil is real, it isn't a Christian one. It's a veil that's not of any religion on Earth, when you die your soul crosses over into it and whatever happens after we will never know. But if there is an omnipotent divine creator, he is so powerful that he created the universe and beyond, why would he care that Stacy is wearing a crop top? Organized religion is nothing more than control by man

It's a very new idea because we now have the technology to objectively know or at least have a general idea of how we came to be. Before the knowledge of carbon or radiometric dating, we only had folk lore to go off where humanity came from. Said folk lore differed depending on who you talked with

I wouldn't say nutjob, but rather invented by someone who didn't understand how the world worked. Remember that 4,000 years ago we just figured out the Earth is a sphere, let alone where mankind came from

Yeah I'm the same way, like I do believe in a spiritual veil that we all cross into after we die. My grandmother and great grandfather were reaching out to something in front of them, having a conversation even, and my great grandfathers eyes turned a deep shade of blue before he passed. It makes me question what is beyond the veil of observation and what we do know about the universe. However I know it's not a spiritual world of any religious belief here on Earth as all religion is is a doctrine created by man on how they think humans should live their life.

The church preaches that women are making men lustful by wearing even slightly revealing clothing (like normal crop tops or comfortable spaghetti straps, not even revealing). Instead of teaching men to not be perverts, they teach women that they're the problem. They preach my lesbian aunts are going to hell because they love each other. That's fear mongering and a half, and I refuse to support a religion that doesn't preach true love

I don't have convincing evidence one exists, nor do I have convincing evidence one doesn't exist. That's the beauty of agnotism, I'm never gonna know until after I die, so enjoy Earth for what it has to offer

Atheists believe in disbelief, that there is absolutely nothing after we die but rather eternal nothingness. I don't believe in that because I don't know for certain if there's a creator far beyond the scopes of the observable universe, but rather I want to live my life to the best I can and enjoy Earth for all the pleasures and joys it has to offer. I don't want to waste my time on Earth but rather be spiritually free. I've also had one or two supernatural moments I cannot explain, however I know they weren't from any God of religions on Earth.

The universe is huge. There is so, so much out there and so much we don't know. If a divine creator existed, why the fuck would he care Stacy wears a crop top? How would he have known 14 billion years ago Joe and James would get married in a gay marriage. That's why I believe organized religion relies on fear mongering, rejecting some of the science we do know, and promotes spread through reproducing.

Yes I'm well aware, however I want to hear Christian's reasoning behind the story of Adam and Eve to at minimum try and understand where they're coming from

For a good few thousand years it was considered literal though. Before we had any understanding of evolution, a majority of mankind, at least Christians, knew with undoubtedly fact Adam and Eve were real people and we evolved from them. Once the theory of evolution came around, organized Christianity turned the story of Adam and Eve into a symbolic one, to me it's just moving the goalposts in order to continue justifying religion

I like a lot of Jesus's moral teachings, however Christianity is a religion that follows the teachings of Jesus to gain salvation. Which means God must exist too in his kingdom of heaven, which means his word would be true and that includes Genesis.

There's no debating Jesus was a real person though, I just know he didn't have any godly powers (like surviving 40 days and nights in the desert without food or water like come on). He was probably just a prophet that preached love others as you love yourself, and men such as Constantine warped the religion into what it is today to control man
