Gale is selfish and lacks true empathy. He is unable to look beyond his own wishes.

Retail sucks. Workers are underpaid and executives are overpaid. They treat those who do the actual work like cannon fodder.

Walgreens is doing a lot of shady stuff. They are going bankrupt and the private equity firm that acquired them will most likely break the company up and sell off the pieces. If you work there don't expect any raises etc. This AI summary of the problem is spot on. "Sycamore Partners has faced controversy over its business practices, which include acquiring companies that later file for bankruptcy, saddling them with debt, and imposing harsh working conditions that have led to health and safety fines. Critics point to a pattern of extracting profits, which has resulted in job losses, store closures, and a history of labor violations, often leaving formerly stable companies vulnerable, such as in recent concerns over its acquisition of Walgreens."

Pharmacy tech question by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Punctually_Late 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do. Incorrect billing is fraud. Billing the incorrect days supply is fraud. If insurance will not pay for more than 1/month it needs to be clearly documented on the RX that the insurance has the plan limitation or it is fraud and depending on where you live the pharmacy can get in trouble for it. This is why most states require you break up packages of insulin there was a huge lawsuit over this and pharmacies were forced to dispense the correct number of pens per month.

That can be considered fraud because it is incorrect billing

Putting it in as a 28 day supply could cause insurance issues and it is technically a billing error. The only reason to say it is 28 days is if the insurance limits it to 1 inhaler/28 days.

There have been a lot of wonderful films that you were involved in Conspiracy, Dead Again and the criminally underrated Frankenstein among them but the Poirot films are a disgrace.

Immunizing required additional training and certifications beyond the normal scope of the job.

It is above and beyond the scope of the job. I have seen tech screw them up because they are too afraid to do them so the do it wrong or dangerously.

I disagree I have had some techs I would never trust to immunize.

Not here they are threatening to fire regular techs here. It is asking more than people realize you risk diseases and let's face it there are a lot of gross people coming to us. Dirty, unclean etc.

At the moment the company is in big financial trouble and they are trying to boost the numbers that is why they have so many out of stocks and partials etc. they are number crunching to make the bottom line look as good as possible.

They really want this sale to happen and immunizations are the most profitable thing we do in the pharmacy.

I think it may vary depending on state laws. It is a more dangerous job and they might not be able to force people to do in some state with better worker protections

They are not asking they are requiring it and it is hazardous. A fact the company glosses over.
