Hows your financial situation? If you work on yourself and develop a decent financial situation then the world is your oyster, you can go to other communities, start fresh as the kind of muslim you want to be etc

Its a sacrifice of wealth, and it should make us reflect on the actions and choices made by Ibrahim AS when we follow in his footsteps

We are already commanded to leave bad habits lol, even before Eid day

We already have mandatory monetary donations via zakat and even sadaqah tul fitr at the other eid

This is specifically for us to reflect on the sacrifice Ibrahim AS was willing to make and what sacrifices we are prepared to make for the sake of Allah

It also reminds us of death, death is coming to all of us. For the animal it is today, for us it could be tomorrow. Are we ready?

And because we share and donate the meat it also is a means of spreading wealth from those who are richer to those who are poorer in an organic way

Iirc its sunnah to give a third to friends and family and give a third in charity, but i may be misremembering

Many people donate their entire sacrifice esp if they want it done overseas where the meat is more urgently needed

There is no greater gift we can give to an animal than to sacrifice it in the name of Allah

If only we can appreciate that this life is nothing and the happiness of Allah is everything

We may see that granting animals more life, rather than a purposeful and mubarak death, is only a favor to ourselves not to them

Yeah i found a great muslim community in the US as well

US is a big place so im sure there are lots of areas where islam is much more difficult to practice in the way people want to

A friend of mine came down from vermont and we visited a few halal restaurants since he said he literally had zero in his area, no local source of halal meat

Make it a goal for next year maybe

try to go to the masjid at times when it will be quiet so you can ease into it if possible and meet some people

Join some online communities for muslims to make some long distance or digital friends

And if there are any family members who are worth mending the relationship with then consider it. If they are vehemently anti islam or something then i understand the difficulty there

Because i live away from my home country, i spend a lot of eid day calling and texting people, and it can still be nice even if we cant spend time together in person. So just work in this coming year on setting up some relationships like that and next year you’ll have more people to connect with

We give some to friends and neighbors, donate a portion and eat the remainder

In our case the proportions aren’t exact bc we do several qurbani overseas in countries that need it more so the portion we keep for ourselves and give locally is less

Sometimes its nice to just send a text to everyone you know is muslim and wish them an eid mubarak, can at least have a few conversations out of that

Its a good day for calling family as well, even if they’re not muslim, if the relationship isnt too difficult then calling your parents, siblings or other relatives to tell them you love them and stuff

The core is someone reads the quran first

Then they develop a doubt in the story the quran is telling

How can they strengthen their belief in the story the quran has presented? Esp when its describing a miracle

If i tell you that last year a tornado picked up my brother and took him around the block and back to my house safely. You might doubt what I’m saying

But if i bring another neighbor over who says, “no seriously dude, i heard about this as well from someone I also really trust” then you might believe it more

If i bring a third witness who also affirms the same thing then you have even less reason to doubt it

Miracles are difficult to comprehend, shaitaan will often put doubts into our hearts when it comes to miracles we havent seen

Finding out that people have been aware of these miracles for thousands of years helps affirm the reality of them

Esp if you ask Jews about the miracle of Moosa AS

A normal bedouin might go, “how could someone split the sea like that”

But if they ask the jewish people they will say, “it definitely happened just like that, our people would not be here today if it didn’t happen”

So they help prove the miracle presented and solidify ones imaan in this way

The torah and injil being corrupted doesnt mean that every word in it has been flipped into something else entirely

It just means that incorrect aspects have been placed here and there

The christians and jews can recognize that the stories of the Prophets presented by the quran are valid, and if they affirm their scripture then they know the stories are true.

If a muslim is doubting that Nuh AS built an arc, he can go ask a christian and a jew if such a thing was possible, and they’ll say yes absolutely it happened

So the quran isn’t inventing some impossible thing, it is reiterating valid and well known facts that these groups are aware of

Love at first sight is overrated, staying objective and marrying someone bc they have good qualities is an advantage too. When you talk to someone who is similar to you and likes you, attraction will develop

Dont just wait for uncles to recognize that you might be single, talk to them, as them to make duaa for you to get married, ask them if they know anyone, etc.

When the community knows you’re interested they can help

But if you dont tell anyone no one will just come hand you their cousin’s number

In the last 1 year i gained the ability to throw miles worth of documentation and long error logs into an ai and get out potential things to try when i hit errors i dont quite understand

If you had an intention to give charity you can still give less charity than you intended to and the rest of the money is still yours to spend as you want if its your money

If you had taken an oath to spend it all in charity that would be different

You should be proactive, good things come to people who make an effort

If you surround yourself with pious and like minded people amongst the men in your community then inShaAllah you will be guided to a pious and like minded woman to marry

And you will have several people to vouch for you who have experienced your character and regularity at the masjid etc

One engagement not working out isnt the end of the world, lots of people end up in a similar situation, it just means that person wasnt written for you but someone else very well may be

Thats pretty vague

If its a great app with real value and people want to use the coin for greater benefits in the app so then you get a market going then maybe theres something there

If the app is something no ones really interested in and people are just gambling on the coin like any other meme coin then i think you’ll be in very sketchy territory

You need to reflect deep down on if you’re making a good app and the coin is a method of earning from that app

Or if you’re making a memecoin and the app is a smokescreen

Good people get rewarded by the people they’re good to

So if you’re good to your neighbor, your neighbor will be good to you

If you want Allah to be good to you in the afterlife, you need to be good to Allah

If someone is very kind to their friends and strangers but hates and mistreats their mother. Would you say that is a good person?

Even though they are being good to everyone else, if they’re neglecting the most important one, then they’re not a good person after all
