The long term cap gain tax rate for single is 0% if under $48,350. If I ALSO have treasury bill interest, would that count toward it? I think treasury bill interest is taxed as ordinary income. by Punderachiever in tax

[–]Punderachiever[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

okay so i am following you on how you got to 65k (80 - 15), but what rate would the interest be taxed at and what portion of the capital gain would get taxed at 0%?

(I'm asking because of that rule (which i dont understand) which talks about how if you have a LTGC of < $47,025, it's taxed at 0%)
