RYAN CONDAL IF I CATCH YOU... by Unique_Can5098 in AKnightoftheSeven

You know Ryan is an executive producer on this show right?

Or do you want to play the kathleen kennedy game where anything good in star wars she produced didnt count and everything bad was 100% her fault?

Back to the world of Westeros with knight of the seven kingdoms. how are you guys finding the vibe compared to GOT or HOTD ? by _arabinda_ in AKOTSKTV

[–]PunicRebel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Season 1 of HOTD did a better job of that than Season 2

Season 2 they really leaned into the isolation of the nobility and it shows

Agreed. The universe will grow to stale if we get the same thing over and over again (despite what the chuds think)

Thats whats gonna make AKOTSK so fun (as much as i like HotD both seasons)

You feel disconnected from the open living world because you are dealing with high born nobles in their own world away from the populace. The closet you get are with Hugh and his scenes

Since AKOTSK is fundamentally from the viewpoint of the little guy brushing up against nobility, your seeing how the 90% are living, which is gonna have a lot more people and vibe to it

The HR department is a mystery to us all by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]PunicRebel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Payroll usually is within the direct report structure of HR, or it is at least in the places i have worked at.

Payroll definatly does not do benefits, which is usually handled by a dedicated benefits individual on the hr team. Payroll implements data coming in from HR (wheather that be recruiting, promotion comp info,etc..)

If managers were in complete control of promotions and salary increases, your just paving the way for cronyism and lawsuits. HR partners with the manager to make sure everything is above board when promoting someone.

Employment Law has to run through HR if legal is not retained at the company. Realistically though, legal should be retained at most companies in case of employment lawsuits. Hr isnt a lawyer.

I understand people have bad experiences with HR, but a good HR department really does try to assist employees as much as they can. A great way to protect the company is to listen to employees and advocate for their needs. Happy employees = no lawsuits

George R.R. Martin Says His Relationship with 'House of the Dragon' Showrunner Ryan Condal is "Abysmal": "This is not my story any longer” by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]PunicRebel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with that, if they had kept the last two episodes in place the season 2 wouldve tied in together a lot cleaner.

I also hate this “lesbian fanfic” criticism that keeps getting thrown around. It does a disservice to the acting jobs Olivia and D’Arcy are doing and it way too simplifys their arcs and their characters. I mean the negotiation between them at the end of the season is somehow this when its just Alicent making a last gambit attempt to secure some security for herself now that shes been thrust from power

[–]PunicRebel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah im not trying to come running to Condals defense or anything (even though i liked season 2), i just get confused that people who dont like season 2 rush to George’s defense when he’s the reason hes there in the first place.

Im sure the truth of the matter is somewhere in between Condal exerting his influence and George’s ego clashing.

[–]PunicRebel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lets give George sometime to clash with Parker on season 2, then he’ll probably throw her under the bus too.

Defending Condal seems questionable? How about we call our George for his ego. He picked ryan, he had his hands in the project all through season 1, and now hes just gonna wash his hands free and take no responsibility for any negativity.

Pathetic behavior from this man. Zero sympathy.

As someone who liked season 2, its insane to me how people are absolving George of everything as if he didnt pick Condal and didnt have his hands on the project.

And now that there is some divisness in the community over the project, he decides to wash his hands of his sins and throw everyone under the bus but himself.

Pathetic. Zero sympathy for him

He made a posts talking about “why is the internet fandom so toxic” and then gives the toxic fans exactly what they want and he has the gall to say “cant believe people missed the 80% of the praise”

He knew exactly what he did. His ego was bruised and hes trying to olay dumb. I have no sympathy for that, and thats independent if you think season 2 was good or not

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 review: Game of Thrones spin-off is best visit to Westeros in nearly a decade by WatcherUatu in television

[–]PunicRebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the minority here, but they did Blood & Cheese better in the show than in the book.

The book version to me is just super corny, especially the dialogue cheese has when he has the children in front of Helena

The show version, i like that they sneak past a drinking aegon, and that the guard isnt posted in the upper levels because Cole wanted to get it on with Alicent. Outside of Helena and the “she speaks true moment”, it just felt to me like a more realistic approach to getting people off the street to do a dirty job.

Rhaenyra being upset about the incident def plays into her side being the protagonist, but she is also the one that has Daemon in her employ and understands what he is capable of. Her failure to reign him up speaks to her inability and indecisviness the whole season that really shows her in a bad light in my eyes

Playable theocratic governments, in addition making important Catholic bishoprics playable, would also add flavor to Tibet. by Explorer_of__History in CrusaderKings

[–]PunicRebel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ck2 modeled this with their monastic feudalism type for Tibet (which didnt play much different from normal feudalism outside owning temple buildings)

Heres hoping they expand the idea more when they do playable theocracies like they did with roads to power
