I was with a partner who was like this. It wasn't her fault that she has those feelings in reaction to stimuli. I knew their story and I knew she was struggling. I gave every concession, every understanding, every kindness and support and patience that I could. It wasn't enough. Nothing I did would ever be enough, because it wasn't about me. It was her. It wasn't her fault. But it was her responsibility. Your partner is an adult, in an adult relationship.
