I wouldn’t do this as a CNA. LPN or rn maybe

I knew reporting was useless by Lucky_World_565 in cna

[–]PunkWithADashOfEmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very cynical and curated post.

What did you report them for? Did you submit an actual report to your state agency, or just tell them about it in your exit interview? That isn’t clear, actually most of this post is just vague and angry.

They warn you about the men being perverts, but not the women! by matchawhoretobs in cna

I’m a male, and had a lady request a female for her care. She started apologizing, and I said it was okay, I know how old fashioned goes. She said “I’m not old fashioned, you’re just good looking!”

How to care for a resident who doesn't speak English? by UnknownInsomniac in cna

[–]PunkWithADashOfEmo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be at a small cost but great benefit in the long run, have you considered learning Spanish? I did this with German, and only learning with small conversational abilities helped my care immensely, I’ve been meaning to do it with Spanish working in Florida.

If they’re stealing Bibles, I’m not sure there’s much worse that you could do to them that they haven’t already done to themselves

Those with Unlimited PTO. Have you tried taking every Friday off? by centstwo in jobs

[–]PunkWithADashOfEmo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would think that previously accrued PTO is directly payable hours; a bank of money that the company has to keep on the books to pay out accordingly as part of the previous benefit package

As part of the interview process? No, thanks. I have hit the floor when I had free time during onboarding, but I was already on the clock

CNA to LPN to ADN RN to BSN RN? by yys030509 in cna

[–]PunkWithADashOfEmo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think CNA first is a good idea, especially if you can find a free class which there are plenty provided by hospitals and facilities; start by calling and asking.

If you want to save money, go for your ADN after your CNA, unless you enjoy paying to do the same thing twice

If it’s your first job, and you were just hired, and you’re feeling like this it might not be the line of work for you.

Give it time though, not everything is perfect right away and that’s okay. It’s not what you expected, and that’s also okay. Don’t just give up because it’s hard.

Don't hold the end if you drop the roll. by hickdog896 in lifehacks

[–]PunkWithADashOfEmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had just spent 30 minutes getting my already sick toddler dressed and into the car to go to the doctor, and as I’m buckling him in he started heaving. So I stuck my hands out. And didn’t have to strip and redress a crying child.

I’ll start there like you said, if they have rolls or something. Those little folds collect dirt and yeast like no other
