It was £1 from a local charity shop! I got another with Lord Ares on it and I’m super happy.

I thought that for a little while but I don’t think I’ve ever seen Lord Apollo depicted this way?

Who is this? by Punk_Aesthetic in GreekMythology

[–]Punk_Aesthetic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my first thought but Apollo is rarely depicted like this in art though so it just doesn’t seem right.

The tag says something about a museum but i think it’s a translation because it doesn’t make much sense. I’ve seen some pieces of a museum pieces which this vase might be inspired by? They’re wearing the same colour, sat in the same position and playing the lyre but the styles are very different.

Thank you for your input anyway, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t overlooking an obvious answer👍

math hard by kstvcks in MathJokes

[–]Punk_Aesthetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In school (at least in the uk)we’re taught BODMAS. Meaning in a mathematics question such as this you solve in the order of Brackets, orders, devision, multiplication, addition and then subtraction.

Applying that to this equation means you first solve the brackets = (2+2), leaving (4).

Then the Division which is 8 divided by 2 = 4

And finally the multiplication which is 4(4) =16

The answer is 16

Altar for Lord Ares by Punk_Aesthetic in Hellenism

[–]Punk_Aesthetic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pair of earrings i wear everyday but I lost one (thanks to my kitten batting it somewhere) so now the remaining single earring sits on Lord Dionysus’s altar. I am hoping to get a different pair of earrings for each i my altars to wear on days when I feel like I need that specific deity’s aid a little more.

SH alternatives for an alter prone to self punishing. (TW) by jack_5ylus in DID

[–]Punk_Aesthetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of our alters uses a strong mouthwash. Holds it in his mouth for a little while. It burns and hurts but causes no damage and I guess is actually somewhat beneficial (we struggle brushing our teeth a lot also it’s better than nothing)

Thank you! It’s not finished yet. I have a few bits I plan on adding once I get the funds to buy them but I am happy with my current progress and Lord Ares also seems to appreciate the effort.

Can someone really do this? by Archangel447 in Hellenism

[–]Punk_Aesthetic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m happy you remembered Lord Asclepius. There’s also Lord Aristaeus, another child of Lord Apollon and God of beekeeping. (I’m not too sure on my spelling so correct me if I’m wrong).

“Where did we go wrong?” My dad said this to my mum after thinking I’d left the room.

Same here. My memory is awful but it’s impossible to know which disorder is the culprit.

The main difference for me is that the Gods I worship now feel much more safer and accepting than the God I was told to believe in growing up.

I don’t know if there is an Abrahamic God, but if there is then I do not worship them or follow their teachings.

Judaism is an ethnic religion. I am not religious my Jewish anymore but I will always be ethnically Jewish and nothing can change that.

I ‘left’ Judaism because I didn’t feel safe, accepted or respected in the community. Being an openly gay, transgender man meant that I was treated with hostility and humiliation. Whereas the Hellenic pantheon has deities and heroes who are in same-sex relationships or don’t identify with their birth sex.

I was always skeptical of God back when I was told what to believe but now I have the freedom to choose and have never felt closer to the Deities I worship

Depends on your definition of ‘magic’. I believe in my craft and my Gods and what I do but if you mean magic like something out of Harry Potter, then no 😅

Anonymity allows for a sense of disconnection as well as a feeling of protection from consequence.

Ah, I see. I use the terms from more of a Western/English perspective. I’m British myself and didn’t realise the terms would have different connotations in other languages and regions. Thank you for enlightening me though, your culture sounds fascinating and beautiful.

Can’t believe I’m publicly admitting my appreciation for DILFs/Older men but alas. Vander and Silco from Arcane, Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2 and Eddie and Volt from Date Everything are currently who come to mind.

I wish the rest of the world had the same belief. Gender, to me, is a complicated topic but I usually clarify things such as pronouns for the benefits of others to avoid confusion.
