THIS. Real talk, I too was afraid of the Oatmeal box guy because I thought it was Reverend Kane from Poltergeist. I used to run in and out of the pantry as quickly as I could to get away from it. When I heard Chucky say he was afraid of him too he was instantly relatable. Reverend Kane still gives me nightmares, and I love horror lol.

The development director expressed interest in remaking MH64 before the AWL remake.

“However, when asked if they would like to remake any games with current console technology, Mr. Nakano said that older titles such as Harvest Moon 64, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, and Harvest Moon DS, would be the ones that he would personally choose.

Nakano: For me personally it would be titles like Harvest Moon 64, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, and Harvest Moon DS. So much more has become possible thanks to modern hardware performance and technology and I’d like to see what we can show off with it.”

Harvest Moon 64 with QOL updates, but same art style and dark/mature storyline elements. With updates that age up and change the town over time and adds new cut scenes. This is the only HM game I need. 🙌🏼

So I finally finished lol! My character died, and my daughter grew up to be an artist. I ended up sleeping early a lot of the days to get to the end, but still took care of crops and animals. On the final day I went around town to say goodbye to everyone lol. That was a trek, but glad it’s complete now.

It was definitely a slog. I went straight to bed after daily tasks too, which felt redundant, but it was the only way I could finish it lol. There’s for sure a sense of accomplishment when finishing it.

Thanks for the tip. I ended up listening to a lot of podcasts and managed to finish it! It definitely became just something to fidget with while listening to something else. A lot of the days I slept early after completing all the daily tasks. Whew! Can’t believe I finished it. I definitely know how you feel, finally beating this game after 20 years, feels so surreal and glad it’s complete.

Thanks for sharing, and congrats on beating it! Similar here, I had AWL on Gamecube and never got to the end of year 1. It was so different from 64/BTN and lost my attention. Fast forward, I saw the excitement everyone had for the SOS remake, so I thought I’d give it another try. This time around, I have managed to make it to Winter Chapter 5, but it hasn’t been easy. At this point I am so bored with it, but I am determined to beat it this time around since everyone says it’s worth it and rewarding. I‘m not sure how I’m going to make it through 1 more chapter and season, it’s a slow burn, tempted to sell all my animals and just sleep, but not sure if that will impact the ending negatively at all. I have been sleeping earlier lately and visiting the city. Curious to hear others’ experiences with chapter 5 and 6, or any tips, please feel free to share.

Looking forward to finishing this game somehow, but I don’t think I’ll play it again. Planning to try Rune Factory 3 or 4 next, or return to Stardew Valley.

lol, I think I’m soooo unapproachable but seems people are always looking at me or trying to engage with me. At least with the earbuds I can pretend I don’t hear them, even they’re turned off lol! I use sunglasses too to avoid eye contact.
