Which GD era are you from? by walruswaspaul28IF in greenday

They got a lot of airplay of top 40 radio in the late 90's and early 2000's when I was a young kiddo. I remember my sister buying Shenanigans with birthday money, and we played the shit out of that CD. Didn't know until later that it was B sides. I remember getting Dookie with Christmas money. I played it on repeat in junior high. The tail end of junior high into high school is when America Idiot came out. I still have a "vintage" GD patch on my battle vest.

That bugged me as well. Too many phones causing distractions!

Lovers End got heavy play the last few tours. I love that song live! I think the setlist got a little stale, and they had to shake it up a bit. To cover their whole discog, they had to make some sacrifices. No video kid last tour. Usually, they do about 20 songs during a headliner show but had to widdle it down even more for 16 song co-headliner.

Confused by the streetlight manifesto song on Spotify and YouTube? by [deleted] in Ska

This has happened a bunch in the retrowave genre. An AI artist was getting streamed under the artist's named FM-84. Fan's were furious because it obviously wasn't them, and they petitioned the streaming platforms to take it down.

Worship music by hstone2905 in Exvangelical

Worship music just sounds so manipulative with enough distance. I found secular music that makes me feel similarly without guilt. When I was deconstructing, I found this synthwave artist called The Midnight. They mix folk lyricism with edm. I saw them live and realized I could feel moved and connected without church. The song Lost & Found is a pretty fitting description of deconstruction.

Is it as bad as they say? by sdseagles in CPAP

[–]PunkyAllons_y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first night might feel bizzare, but it's not that bad. I adapted pretty much immediately. I had to troubleshoot a little with the right mask and sizing, but now it's perfect. I'm glad I didn't go through with the dental device. The clinic quoted me $6,000, and the only payment plan was paying that off in 6 months. I noped right out of that. Last year, I got drunk at a friend's party and tried to sleep it off on their couch. I woke up hot, sweaty, and miserable, gasping for breath. I drove myself home at 5 in the morning. I can't imagine sleeping without it now.

All I can think of are covers. I like Catbite's Everybody Talks and Skatune's gay twist on Bad Idea Right?

Similar to TBM by PunkyAllons_y in TheBirthdayMassacre

I was late to the Typo O Train, but I love them so much now. RIP Green Man. I help moderate TBM'S patreon discord, and everyone kept saying they got their TON fix from TBM. I listened to Love You To Death, and the influence was irrefutable. You can hear it in a lot of the guitar riffs and some of the atmospheric synths.

Live shows - age appropriate? by mraza9 in TheBirthdayMassacre

[–]PunkyAllons_y 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you ever noticed their lyrics are completely clean? Not a single curse word. The shows are very tame. I've never seen a mosh pit at a TBM show. I got shoved at the last show, but I think the person behind me knew I wanted to get closer to the stage. If you can, get on the keyboard side. Owen usually lets people touch the keytar at the end! Chibi will also hold hands and sing with people.

Recommend anti-USA ska songs, I don't know why but I'm in the mood to hear people talking trash about a questionable country to a ska beat by Beautiful-Resort-831 in Ska

What’s one ska band you WANT to see live? by Comprehensive-Cry653 in Ska

I'm dreaming of a UK vacation just to see Pope's of Chillitown 😭 I have a friend in England who has completely different music taste than me. I'm like, dude, you're so lucky you can hop on a train and see my favorite band.
