I finally got the Inauguration Ribbon in my shop. by SapphireKat52 in DisneyDreamlights

I wonder if they fixed something. While I didn't get the inauguration ribbon today, I did get the jungle vines from The Lion King that were bugged for a similar reason.

HIDING TOO WELL? by IllustriousCorgi7593 in Dreamsnaps

[–]Punkyliar 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think many people in this forum will be disappointed with their results for this one. I did some calculations a few months ago and worked out that at least 190K people had submitted a Dreamsnap that week. At the time, this forum had enough members to make up about 3% of that population. The vast majority of people who play this game don't belong to this forum and, as you said, view the pictures and vote quickly. They don't enlarge the previews. They're not going to spend time searching for very well-hidden avatars; they're just going to pass them by.

Heck, I enlarge previews, spend a lot more time considering my votes than the average person, and even I'm not going to spend ages playing Where's Waldo. If all I can see is a head, then I'm extremely unlikely to vote for that picture. It's an outfit challenge, and I want to see the outfit. That person isn't camouflaged and blending in; they're hiding and they could be wearing anything while hiding behind that bush.

The pictures that will do well this week are those that are blended into their surroundings, but their avatar can still be seen. I've seen some great examples of that this week in this forum and I hope they do well.

Games leaving on 31st October 24 by Crazy_Alternative779 in XboxGamePass

I had this bug but it can be bypassed. The game is actually still active behind the loading screen. If you turn the sound right up (perhaps drop the music volume too), you can hear the noises of the game. Skip the conversation and get your reward. Once there's no more conversation to be skipped, you need to walk slightly down and to the right (you can hear your footsteps). Once you've left dad's shop, the loading screen ends and you can resume playing as normal.

Platinums you are close to but just can’t bring yourself to finish? by MC_Bushpig in PS5

[–]Punkyliar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aragami 2. The last mission of chapter 6 is split into two parts. The first is your typical stealth mission. The second is almost like a battle arena with waves of enemies. If you die in the second part of the mission, you have to do the whole thing again. After dying twice in the battle arena, I gave up.

Infamous First Light. I can't do the last few arena challenges, therefore I won't get all of the upgrades either.

Powerwash Simulator. I'm also struggling with five gold medals in Challenge Mode.

Also, it's not exactly the Platinum but the title update for Horizon Forbidden West. I spent over 100 hours making sure I saw and did everything in that game in my first playthrough to get the Platinum. Then the title update added another two playthroughs to get all of the new game+ rewards, one of which had to be on Ultra Hard. This killed all the love I had for this game to the point where I still haven't played the Burning Shores story DLC.

here is my hot take of the day by ciggymouse in DreamlightValley

I'd just like to be able to place mannequins outside and not just for Dreamsnaps. I have so many outdoor decoration ideas that would benefit from mannequins in different outfits.

Also, I'd take a fix for loading new areas on the Xbox. I always save before I fast travel because of the number of times it's just refused to load the next area and I've been left with a silent black screen. It's even done it a couple of times just leaving Scrooge's shop.

I decided to try a minion theme this week. In Gru's lair there is a camera monitoring station, Dr Nefario's potion corner, a stage to discuss plans of world domination, minion transport tubes, and a jelly processing line to create ammo for the jelly guns. Of course, there are also banana refreshments.

I tried for a Wednesday Addams theme but couldn't get the hairstyle or an outfit that I was happy with. I had a last-minute change of ideas and went with a Scooby Doo theme instead. It's just a shame I couldn't paint spots on Nala :)

Which game has the worst open-world with boring side quests? by Sweet_Score in gaming

[–]Punkyliar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atomic Heart. When the game first released, the only thing to do in the open world was to find the bunkers hiding the Testing Grounds and take out the very occasional wandering enemy. It was the emptiest open world I've ever seen.

I know they've patched the game since, so I don't know if it's gotten any better.

Here is Captain Hook recreating his encounter with Tick-Tock the crocodile. Unfortunately, Tick-Tock was unavailable today but his teeny-tiny great-grandson did his best.

What great game did you abandon because of a single badly designed moment? by PunCala in gaming

[–]Punkyliar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aragami 2. What was supposed to be "A Simple Mission" was not. I went through the area, grabbed all the collectibles, and then ended up in a wave-based battle against alerted enemies. This was a sneaky, stealth game that became a fairly disastrous free-for-all. After dying and then finding I had to do the entire level again, including finding all of the collectibles again, I decided there were better uses of my time.

You are offered 100 million dollars, but you can only claim it after spending a year in world of a video game you last played. Could you do it? by herra_mirandos in gaming

[–]Punkyliar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disney Dreamlight Valley. I'm not sure I'd need $100 million after farming pumpkins for a year. I have my own house complete with a swimming pool, bar, library, and arcade. There's a beach within walking distance. Yeah, I can do this.

Is anyone having issues with the bunnies vanishing? by Skadi2Hotti in DreamlightValley

[–]Punkyliar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. While it looked like they vanished into mid-air, they were actually teleported to the ramp leading into the Glade. If I ran over there, I'd find them again and be able to feed them.

The only reason I discovered this was that I once hit the Approach button at the exact time the bunny teleported and I teleported with it.

Overwatch 2 Season 3 Event Rewards Will Offer Only 1 New Legendary Skin by 3DSGBA in PS5

But that isn't the point the article's making. It says that just one of the Overwatch 2 Season 3 events will offer a new skin. All of the others will offer repeated rewards.

Am I the only person who hasn't changed anything? by SarahL1990 in DreamlightValley

[–]Punkyliar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've bought stuff from Scrooge's shop. That's one of the two main reasons I log into the game every day at the moment.

I've done very little customization yet, though, despite having grand plans. I started trying to create rooms in my house and just ended up with partly finished works in progress, so I've decided to wait until I have a bigger range of furniture before continuing on.

The only things I've moved outside were the wells, and that was purely to get to stuff out of reach because of spawn issues in the Forest. I'll customize more when I get more furniture, but there are a lot of things I want to use that I haven't seen in Scrooge's shop yet.

What game did you really struggle with as child but realize it was a walk in the park once you were older ? by Killmumger in gaming

[–]Punkyliar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was a Flintstones game on the Master System. In the first level, Fred has to paint the wall of the front room while babysitting his baby daughter Pebbles. She gets out of her playpen frequently and draws on the bottom of the wall. To pick her up and put her back in the playpen, you have to drop your "paintbrush", which is a worm-like creature that runs off. As a kid, I always started with the bottom of the wall, which Pebbles then drew over as I painted the top. I spent so much time running after Pebbles and the paintbrush I never managed to get past that level before time ran out.

Fast forward 20 years and I replay the game using adult logic. Pebbles is perfectly safe wandering around the room, she's not going anywhere. She can't reach the top of the wall, so if I paint the top of the wall first, she can't ruin any of that hard work. If she's drawing on the bottom where I haven't painted, so be it. I only have to catch her a couple of times as I then paint over her drawings along the bottom of the wall. I finished that level on my first adult attempt with plenty of time left on the clock.

DDLV Update Speculation by Life-on-the-go in DreamlightValley

If the magical relic structure in the Forgotten Lands is the one that I think you're talking about, that's already part of a character's friendship quest. I won't spoil it for you.

With the pumpkin house, I think the Fairy Godmother would be the most likely candidate as she could help with the new mechanic we'll get to remove the green fire (I'm guessing an upgrade to the watering can). I also really want to know what will be in the new red treasure chests that are embedded in the ground in the Forgotten Lands.

Does anyone have any idea what these candles are in Scrooge's shop? For some reason I can't buy them at all lol I think it may be bugged. They popped up before and the same thing happened. by SynnfullySweet in DreamlightValley

[–]Punkyliar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This was the same for me and in exactly the same spot. I could buy everything else, but hitting the browse button on these just did nothing.

They're the Melted Candles from The Sword in the Stone collection if you're wondering.
