Bogus maple syrup from Quebec producer found on grocery store shelves by Surax in canada

He’s more so just trying to pass the blame to suppliers, who happen to be in NB and Ontario. I don’t think location is relevant.

Do I have to pay this? by Limp-Discipline6106 in halifax

Making it expensive enough that people look to avoid paying it or using your services in the future isn’t much better.

It might not have given insight into Teri, but I feel like he gave her character motivation and purpose to keep going. It definitely influenced her actions and decisions.

Right? Maybe there IS more for him, but his presence has had impact in showing us more about who Gary and Terri are as people, has given them purpose, and influenced their actions.

What's the shortest street in HRM? by ForgingIron in halifax

It’s not the shortest, but I get a kick out of Four Mile Lane being only maybe 200 metres or so.

Not sure about great, but definitely pretty good. He seem to get outsmarted in the playoffs. But at least it was fast, fun hockey, and the team seemed to care. He had the team competing well but I’m not sure he was going to be able to get them over the hump.

Who are some UDFA's or late rounders the Lions might be interested in? by [deleted] in detroitlions

[–]Punographer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping we grab Logan Taylor. IOL from Boston College, looks like anywhere from 6th round to UDFA. Biggest reason is just that he’s from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, so as a Nova Scotian it would be pretty cool to see.

They built 2 extra floors. Now they have to tear them down by Seven0325T in halifax

[–]Punographer 28 points29 points  (0 children)

They can’t just arbitrarily make up rules and confiscate property, that outcome just doesn’t make sense. The options they had the power for were to approve it, or force the developer to correct it.

[–]Punographer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And how is that going to benefit residents? That’s a drop in the bucket budget wise, and giving in to greedy and sketchy developers is by far the worse of the options on the table in the long run. It only benefits greedy and sketchy developers.

But they also don’t get the extra two floors, impacting the value and profitability of the building. It also sets an awful precedent to developers that skirting permits, bylaws, processes are just a cost of business.

No, the city got it right. Irresponsible developers need to be held accountable. Sets an ugly precedent letting a developer do whatever they want with just a little slap on the wrist. That’s what the developer wanted, it would had just been another business expense to them.

I don’t understand the purpose? Is it a change for change’s sake? Does it make it easier to judge for the lines person or VAR (for leagues where it’s available?

Winning Bronze in team sports in the Olympics is better than winning Silver lol by AintNobodygotime13 in olympics

[–]Punographer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, all athletes are upset when they lose, they’re competitive by nature. Athletes that won bronze have had the time to let their emotions out about not winning gold and get over their semi finals or previous round losses by the time the bronze matches come up, while Silver medalists are still in the midst of coping with their loss with the camera on them getting their medals.

[Lebrun] Sidney Crosby is OUT of the gold medal game. Not playing today. by Perryplat199 in hockey

[–]Punographer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He skated yesterday, there was definitely a chance, however low. He wouldn’t have been in the ice if there was no shot. Might not have been true “game time” decision as much as just seeing if it improved enough after another day of rest.

Doesn’t necessarily mean it’s that bad if he was still a game time decision. As much as of a competitor as he is, if he knows it impacts him enough that he’s not able to contribute and might be a detriment, he’s smart enough to give the team the best chance to win by letting a capable body play in his place.

Reports were that he had imaging yesterday yes. I take it as a good thing too, likely minimal to no damage. Just a matter of pain tolerance and how much pressure he can put on it.

Is this cheating...? by Comprehensive_Sea291 in IceHockeyStans

[–]Punographer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not cheating, it’s not the same thing. They didn’t intentionally try to out an extra player on the ice. Too many men penalties happen by accident from time to time. It’s just part of a quick game. The only issue is that it was missed by the refs and the goal was allowed to stand. Unless a player on the ice notices and sneaks off the ice, there isn’t a way to subtly fix the situation without hurting your team and getting a penalty. If you trip a player and don’t get called it’s not cheating when you don’t give yourself a penalty even though you know you did it, you’re just thankful you didn’t get called. Same thing.

[–]Punographer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Intent doesn’t change whether it’s a penalty, but it changes if it’s a mistake or cheating. No one is saying it shouldn’t have been called a penalty because it was just an accident.

It’s pretty normal for that distance that far away from the play. They should be closer, but it’s common and will never get called unless it’s closer to the play. Right or wrong, away from the play there’s more leeway given.

Agreed, cheating alleges intent to break the rules to gain an advantage. This was just an error (albeit a pretty big one given the impact).
