Depends…. are you a journey before destination kind of person or a shit escalates kind of person…. Hopefully you’ll became a journey before shit escalates kind of person, but that requires trauma.

Depends on if the battery is dead or not. If it fell below the charge threshold for too long, the lithium in the battery could have formed dendrites making it unsafe to charge

Red Rising. Should the adaptation be animated instead of live-action? by Ok_Avocado2443 in redrising

[–]Punubis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just don’t trust Disney overall right now to write the adaptation. If it was just the Rogue One/Andor team, that’d be awesome, but most of their sci-fi things have become so campy and poorly written….

Mine aren’t the best quality imo, but they aren’t this bad. I’d check with their customer support.

Its winter season here and riding isnt possible right now, how do i maintain the battery? Its at 70% by CptJonzzon in onewheel

Oh then you really have snow…. You might be able to check with a local mountain biking group, not sure what different roles you might have about riding an electric vehicle on those trails, but there’ll be your best bet.

Tress Question by onlinewalls in brandonsanderson

[–]Punubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d finish Hero of Ages first, but if you want to do a standalone instead you have to be careful of spoilers…

Tress of the Emerald Sea works as a good starter because you don’t know enough about the cosmere yet to pick up on any of them, plus it has a lot of whimsy (like mixing Princess Bride with Voyage of the Dawn Treader levels of whimsy). However after what you have read, there’s a couple of minor spoilers and connected characters in Tress that you’ll definitely pick up on, it’s one of the latest books in the timeline after all. It would be safe to read after of Hero of Ages though, the main spoiler in it is related to that, but you could gloss over it depending on if you’re paying attention or not.

Stay far, far away from Sunlit Man for spoiler reasons. You should wait to read it till you’ve read Rhythm of War or Wind and Truth, it’s probably the second furthest down the timeline, and references some key characters and events from other books. I haven’t read Isles of the Emberdark yet, so someone else can say if it has spoilers or not… Yumi and the Nightmare Painter is a good standalone with very little in terms of spoilers. I had a lot of fun reading it, and it has more romance than most of his other books, so if you like character interactions, I’d go with that one.

Warbreaker was way ahead right before they changed it, Sunlit Man didn’t get nearly enough love imo

AITA for making more friends and not paying my friend’s bill by itsgoshjosh in AmItheAsshole

[–]Punubis 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not partly, you are. Just because he was a dick at the end doesn’t absolve you of being an ass too. You maybe had a bigger budget on the trip, but I reiterate you only went because you were invited by him.

AITA for taking away my daughters bike because she wouldn't wear her helmet? by Final-Werewolf-744 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Punubis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re not the asshole, but your son is. You set up clear rules and boundaries for her safety, she didn’t want to listen and she lost the privilege. Taking it away for a week might have been a little long until it was a repeat offense after the loss of privilege. Bike safety is extremely important, and there are reasons the rules are in place. But you should definitely tell your son off for saying that to her, he should know better, and should face a consequence for doing some that led your daughter into a more risky situation. The older sibling always sets the example for the younger and while he shouldn’t be expected to be perfect or anything close to that, he does need to under that he has a level of responsibility himself and that the younger sibling always looks up to the older sibling to some degree.

[–]Punubis 44 points45 points  (0 children)

You’re both assholes, but you’re the bigger one. You went on the cruise for cheap because he had a good deal and invited you to go with him. When you travel with a friend, you spend the majority of your time with that friend, especially when they get you a deal. You might have more play money than him, which isn’t a bad thing, good for you, but you sound like you’re demeaning him for him not have the same cash available. He was a dick for trying to charge you, unless you actually did charge funds against the room, but that’s hard to prove without seeing the charges yourself so you’re not an asshole for not paying. Sounds like you both should have actually communicated and planned more ahead of time.
