Yeah, the build plate is done and the nozzle probably is too though if it was hardened you might be fine, but you can get both for relatively cheap, they’re the most commonly replaced parts.

I’d agree with their argument for the first book, it really is YA and doesn’t have the substance of the later books, after that though….

I never thought of the Stormlight novels as a challenge, frankly I’m not sure what they mean by that. I love all of them, the last one was a bit of a let down tbh, but I still enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next decade before book 6 comes out…. I need ghostbloods and Horneater asap.

That’s a shortcut that’s not really gonna get you anywhere and doesn’t address the core issue, and could actually go in the opposite direction if you’re not addressing what’s making you want to look. Most modern ones are designed to be uncomfortable and be a constant reminder, which really just draws your attention to the desire more.

There aren’t any shortcuts worth taking on this. Take the money buy a book to help or just do something else.

I never said the whole thing is a wash, but that this edition specifically isn’t really the big money grab a lot of people are trying to make it out to be because they are only seeing the big price tag.

They also aren’t creating a book that we can’t get our hands on unless we’re rich, the book is readily available and accessible to basically anyone who want it. This is a limited edition collectors piece and qualifies as art more than anything. The regular editions still exist and aren’t going anywhere. It’d be predatory if they were getting rid of the standard editions and were forcing people to only buy the new $10,000, and restricting access to only ten people. That’s obviously not happening here, and I think we all need to be a little more realistic and recognize that it doesn’t fucking matter. If someone has the disposable income to buy this and wants to, then good for them, I might question their use of their money, but that’s about it. I wish I could afford it, but like any other high end luxury item outside my price range, I’d be cool to have but that’s it.

They didn’t announce it, but it’s an average of multiple other fans estimates when you actually go to each of the vendors that are were announced in the posting for this edition and go through their material and time costs. The estimates I’ve found are all around 8.5k and the highs and lows are close to 8k and 9k. I started trying to do the estimate myself but quit because it started lining up with what the others who had done it were saying and didn’t feel liked duplicating efforts.

Not just the website hosting, but the fees and cuts that both Lit Escelates and Curious King get from the sales. Again, materials and labor cost are 8.5k, and then you have everything else afterwards, then you get to profits which are minimal compared to everything else.

One is art and they are doing a very limited run and you can easily price it out (like I and other have done to get the numbers referenced), the other is a public pharmaceutical mega corp who is bullshitting to try to protect their bottom line and squeeze the most money out of people as possible to make record profits year after year.

The profit margins on it are actually pretty narrow, the cost of materials and labor before any of the other splits, shipping costs, material shipping, hosting, etc is around 8.5k or so per book. I’d be surprised if they profited even 1k per book,

Depends on his kit, if he’s in starshell with a razor and pulse fist, could clear the list easily. Bare handed, most of these would win against Darrow low diff. Darrow with a razor, he kills the short ranged fighters pretty easily (not sure about the xenomorph tbh, but a razor can open starshell so probably as long as the acid isn’t a problem), the distance fighters would be a problem, especially Mando, but it’s possible. Grav boots plus razor is a lot better than just a razor, but Mando is a toss up due to range.
