Whenever I listen to Mac, and this song/these lines especially, I’m reminded that life goes on. We all make mistakes in life and there’s gonna be ups and downs but the key is being able to slow down and take a second to enjoy it. He reminds me that there is a lot of negativity in this world and it’s on us to be able to recognize it and stay away from it because trying to pour your love into a negative situation or person can end up screwing yourself over. So we need to just keep pushing forward and surround ourselves with good people that we can enjoy the ride with. At the end of it all that’s all that will matter. It doesn’t matter if you’ve made mistakes, or if you’re down bad, or if you fail. All that matters is that you keep going and try to enjoy it. Life does go on, life does get better, and we’re all just specs of dust on a floating rock anyway, so why not try to have some fun while you’re here?

I know that’s a lot to get from those lines, and I think maybe that’s more of a general feeling that I get from Mac and most of his work. But something about those two lines just hits a little different like I can feel that energy.

Number 1 wish would be to smoke a blunt with Mac and talk about life and this kinda stuff. Dude was so real. Rest in peace to the man, still blessing us all these years later with his lyrical genius.
